A debilitating writers' strike couldn't derail the 14th-annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, so you think a little mood swing from Mother Nature was going to scare anyone off? Please. Thanks to a few football-field-sized tents, Hollywood was back to doing what it does best: Getting all dolled up and patting itself on the back. And, by extension, that allowed me to get back to doing what I do best: Trolling the red carpet for scoop. The fruits of my labor can now be viewed on our special SAG video page, which is accessible via this link.
Some highlights:
• John Krasinski breaks "news" about a Jim-Pam wedding and a "possible" Office/30 Rock crossover. (Those quotation marks will make sense when you view the clip.)
• Desperate Housewives' James Denton reveals to me exclusively that a major story arc planned for the second half of the season has been scrapped due to the strike.
• The Closer's Jon Tenney drops a scooplet on Season 4.
• News of a real-life pregnancy throws The Office's Rainn Wilson into a tailspin.
• Justin Chambers weighs in on a possible Alex-Izzie reunion on Grey's Anatomy, while his costar Sara Ramirez hints that there still may be hope for Callie and George.
• Christina Applegate confirms when the final three pre-strike Samantha Who? eps will see the light of day.
All of that, plus House's Olivia Wilde, Big Love's Jeanne Tripplehorn, The Office's Jenna Fischer, Melora Hardin and B.J. Novak, Ugly Betty's Becki Newton, Michael Urie and Mark Indelicato, and Mad Men's January Jones and Christina Hendricks.
And the best part? I'm saving some of the funniest/scoopiest bits for this week's Ask Ausiello, as well as my special SAG-themed Ausiello Report vodcast, which should be hitting your video players on Thursday morning.
Now, without further adieu, hurry up and watch the vids and then immediately proceed to the comments section below to sound off on the following things: The slightly misleading headline above, my videos, and, last but not least, the SAGs themselves.
