Judging from my Ask Ausiello mailbag, the rumor mill is in overdrive with tales of cast shakeups, on-set feuds and top-secret plot twists. And, frankly speaking, I find the lack of truth surrounding some of these so-called news stories really annoying. So, whaddaya say we separate fact from fiction...
Rumor: Tiffani Thiessen is joining the cast of Grey's Anatomy as Derek's sister.
Fiction. A Grey's rep flatly denies that the ex-90210 vixen is bound for Grey's.
Rumor: Sara Ramirez is following Isaiah Washington out the door on Grey's.
Fiction. On June 7, all of the principal actors on Grey's (with the exception of Washington) were informed by ABC that their contract options had been picked up.
Rumor: At the Entourage premiere last night, Hayden Panettiere gifted me with a major spoiler about Heroes' second season premiere.
Fact. The video clip of our red carpet interview is currently playing in the video player on our homepage. (It's the second one down in the scroll bar. If you're having trouble hearing it, try using headphones. They tell me that helps.)
Rumor: Lost producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will maintain radio silence about last month's mind-blowing finale until sometime next year.
Fiction. They'll be talking about it much, much sooner. (I'll tell you exactly when they'll be spilling the beans in next week's Ask Ausiello.)
Rumor: Men in Trees has hired former Gilmore Girls exec producer David Rosenthal.
Fact. He'll be a consulting producer, serving as MIT creator Jenny Bicks' "number two."
Rumor: The Sex and the City movie is a go!
Fiction. Deals are still being finalized. That said, all signs point to this thing going before cameras in mid-September.
Rumor: There will be two deaths on Rescue Me this season.
Fact. The first one occurs early in the season and the second one comes towards the end.
Rumor: The secret surrounding Bradley Cooper's role on Nip/Tuck is that he'll be playing himself.
Fiction. Let's recap all the clues thus far: BC is not coming on as a love interest, a murderer or himself.
Rumor: The Heroes rumor above wasn't so much a rumor as it was a clever way for me to plug my spoiler-rich Hayden Panettiere interview.
Fact. C'mon, admit it: That was pretty damn clever.
