OMG! Mariska Really Won!
It wasn't a dream! I was so afraid I'd wake up this morning and find out that Mariska's Emmy victory was all just a figment of my imagination, but it happened, it really, really happened. And best of all, Marish and I shared a private moment at TV Guide's After Party that, well, wasn't technically private since the whole thing was captured in this exclusive video clip!
I'll have more from Marish — including scoop on Benson's upcoming crisis on SVU — in Wednesday's Emmy-themed Ask Ausiello. In the meantime, if you haven't already done so, you must watch my other After Party interviews with Milo Ventimiglia, Scott Wolf, Jamie Bamber, the cast of Grey's Anatomy, James Denton, Judy Reyes, Jennifer Finnigan, Autumn Reeser, Greg Grunberg, Paula Abdul and Pauley Perrette. Click here for the entire archive. And did I mention that two of my interview subjects kissed me smack on the lips? In their defense, I was looking pretty cute in my tux.
If you've got any burning Emmy-related questions, or just want to give me more grief about my predictions, send them to me ASAP at ask_ausiello@tvguide.com.
Now, excuse me while I tear into my TV Guide After Party gift bag. I think I saw a tube of cinnamon-ice-flavored Crest toothpaste....

Sorry Mike, no Grey's Anatomy and no Dennis Lerey, but 24 and Kiefer deserved to win. I'm so happy for that.

Her speech was one of the best of the night -- she was so genuinely happy/surprised -- go Mariska! Plus, she looked freaking awesome (loving the hair).

Hmm, 4 out of 11 predicted. Are you eating your words that you're usuall spot-on?
While I'm happy The Office won, I sure was pulling for Scrubs. And I can't tell you how thankful I am that The West Wing and Will & Grace can never steal--and boy do I mean steal--another Emmy from a more deserving actor!

I'm glad you were wrong about best show and actor on the drama category, finally emmy voters get it right with 24 and Kiefer Sutherland.

Okay, Mike, I just watched a bunch of the clips. (Yes, you did look very handsome, BTW.) Is it my imagination or was Paula Abdul "chemically enhanced" in your interview? Not that she had to be intoxicated to kiss you, but she looked quite out of it. Actually, it seemed really sad. Someone needs to do an intervention with poor Paula.
Great interview with Mariska, she was beaming! Congrats to her! (Mike, you guys made quite a handsome couple standing there together.)

Wow, you guys were busy last night! There were so many interviews that I couldn't watch them all during my palty one-hour lunch break. I did, however, watch the Greg Grunberg interview twice because it made me laugh so hard. And how considerate of him to take his gum out of his mouth before he kissed you!
Was the last time you co-starred with him a reference to your too-brief stint on Felicity? Would you ask for a cameo on Heroes or even the new Star Trek movie? It seemed like the cameo on Scrubs might be a no go.... More's the pity!

I couldn't believe that Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who shouldn't have even been nominated for that generic laugh-track family sitcom (and Golden Globe winner Mary-Louise Parker doesn't even got nominated), but I was shocked at how nervous she was on stage. She acted like a rookie actor standing on stage for the first time.

Didn't she win last year too?
Nope, this was Mariska's first Emmy and third nomination. She won a Golden Globe in 2005.
