It's Official: Jennie Garth Returning to 90210!

The CW's 90210 reboot has found its missing link.

A source close to the project confirms that Jennie Garth has signed on to reprise her role as Kelly Taylor in the much-hyped update. It's my understanding that Kelly will be working as a guidance counselor at West Beverly High.

Rumors that Garth was headed back to her old zip code intensified last month when she abruptly dropped out of the CBS comedy pilot, My Best Friend's Girl.

Curiously, Garth will not be a series regular on 90210. Rather, she will appear on a recurring basis. Not sure what's up with that.

Buy, hey, a little Kelly Taylor is better than no Kelly Taylor, right?

That is really good news. If CW wants this show to be big as in the 90's, This show needs alot of promotion. 90210 needs to be advertised on Soapnet, CBS, and The front cover of The TV Guide. We already know that CW will advertise that as any other new shows they get.

She better be Kelly McKay! She and Dylan reunited in the series finale! Although, then she was working as a publicist. AHHH soooo excited either way!!!

No, she better be Kelly Walsh! Her and Dylan were disgusting, he belonged with Brenda!

Oh and Kelly's great and everything and Jennie rocks, but I'd rather have Andrea or Brenda.

It was smart of the show to go after Jennie Garth instead of Tori Spelling, who was lobbying for a role.

Didn’t Nicolette Sheriton start as a recurring character on Desperate Housewives? And back on Whose The Boss, the Grandmother only appeared on every third episode, but she certainly had a heavy presence on the program. It is possible that the quantity of time we see Jennie Garth will directly correlate to the ratings of the program. Anyway, all the adults on a teen oriented drama usually play a more minor role.

Hopefully Kelly will still be single and looking for love...she could end up hooking up with a single father from the school (not enough time has passed for Kelly to have teenage children). It will just be great seeing Jennie Garth again; I really loved “What I Like About You.” Jennie is very funny.

This is such great news.

She needs to be Kelly Walsh. The first time I ever cried was when Kelly followed Brandon to the jewelery store and bought back the engagement ring that he returened. That will probably stand out as one of the best moments on
TV for me.

A guidance counselor? No offense to guidance counselors, but that's a bit low for Kelly Walsh/Taylor.

I'm totally psyched that Jennie will be back for the new 90210. Just wondering any word on if she's got a man in her life cause it would be so awesome if her and Brandon got back together. I always hated that story line after they broke up. And that Matt guy she was with four awhile eww. If she's with some other guy then I probably wont even watch the new show since that would totally ruin it for me.

As long as she does not come back as Kelly McKay. She needs to be single or reunited with Brandon. I have been watching 90210 in reruns on soapnet and I hated her while she was with Dylan.

I will be disappointed if she's not Walsh or McKay (preferably McKay just from a continuity standpoint).

And I don't think it's that unusual that she is a guidance counselor. She was a psych major for one thing. Plus, I have two friends who later got into teaching/counseling who first had careers in other areas -- one in advertising/PR and the other in pharmaceutical sales. They got burnt out on those careers and started new ones, so I could see that happening to Kelly.

I just read that Tori Spelling is coming back too. This will be a fun show. I want Luke Perry back, whether he is with Jenny or not. He's great...and dreamy! I can't even imagine why anyone would want Shannon Daugherty back. She is probably stuck in 1993 and still think her opinion counts!
