Breaking: Dollhouse Finds Its Boss Lady

Look what I've got — fresh Dollhouse casting prattle! Even better, this performer's name doesn't resemble a word jumble!

English actress Olivia Williams has landed the role of Adelle, the Dollhouse's cold and sophisticated leader. She runs things with an efficiency that is both ruthless and protective. In other words, she would die before she showed anyone how lonely she is.

Never heard of her, but she sure is perty. She's also got a Wikipedia page, which is always helpful. This just in: OMG, she was Bruce Willis' wife in The Sixth Sense! I approve!

Williams joins previously announced Dollhouse residents Eliza Dushku, Tahmoh Penikett, Fran Kranz, Dichen Lachman and Enver Gjokaj.

btw, i think this is an excellent choice... i'd only heard she was offered the part, not that she'd accepted... so pleased if she has.

Good choice! I was impressed with her acting in Jane Austen Regrets, so I'm sure she'll be great in this role.

She's also the first castmember without a funny name.

Uh, this was on Jace's Televisionary this morning. Hardly a breaking news item or a scoop, dude.

I agree with alynch--she's the first one without an unusual name. I'm sure she's a good choice, but I was hoping for Stephanie Romanov! Lilah rocks!

Yeah, those names of the cast members--looks like an eye chart. By the time we learn how to pronounce all of them, the show will probably be canceled.

Never heard of her?!?!? I hope that is a joke Ausiello. She had to fight for screen time with both Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman but she was one of the reasons why "Rushmore" was the best movies ever made about prep-schools.

This is shaping up to be quite an awesome cast. I wonder if FOX will leave this show on for more than two weeks?

If the BBC is anyone's cup of tea, she shows up quite a bit. Ironically, I had recognized her face frequently but hadn't put a name with it until a few weeks ago! She plays reserved quite well: see "Emma" with Kate Beckinsale.

Wasn't she in X-Men 3?

I love Olivia Williams. She's such a great character actor. She's in a disturbing film with Paul Bettany--title is eluding me--that I would not have continued watching, except that her performance was so extraordinary.

Oh, and she is perfect in Rushmore.
