Exclusive: Veronica Mars Creator Mulls Feature Film!

If there's one thing we can all agree on about last night's Veronica Mars "season" finale, it's this: There's no way in hell that was the end of the story.

So, naturally, the first thing I did this AM was e-mail Mars creator Rob Thomas and ask: "Will we ever find out how you would've ended the show?"

His piddle-worthy response?

"I'm not entirely sure how/when VM would've ended, but I wouldn't discount my taking a stab at a feature script."

Yeah, you read that right. Veronica Mars on the frakkin' big screen!

Rob then added, "But I'm not sure if I could sell a movie based on a little-watched TV series."

Um, I've got one word for you, and it begins with "F" and ends with "Y." I'm talking about Firefly! If a show with barely one season under its belt can get the multiplex treatment — and turn a (small) profit — one can only imagine what VM would be capable of!

Are you with me? Are you? 'Cause you're either with me or against me. If you're with me, cast your vote for a VM feature film in the comments section below. We can make this happen, people!

Yes, please.

Seriously, it could be a small-screen movie, or straight-to-DVD, ANYTHING to get more Veronica goodness.

I'd watch it! Besides, its not like it would be all that expensive to do it. Look at Serenity, it cost roughly $40 million to make, but that had special effects and such which would have sucked up half of the budget. Imagine what kind of VM movie we could get with even half that budget! It's not like there is a lot of special effects needed for VM.

Mike, where you lead, I will follow. (wink!) But seriously, I'm floating in the river Denial right now, so rustle up a raft and join me. I'm ALL OVER this proposal. Pass me the popcorn.

Hell to the Yes!

And, maybe this would bring in even more fans. I never saw Firefly until after I saw the movie Serenity and loved it. I now own both the movie and the series.

If there was a movie, it would be a great way to find even more fans. Especially if they decide to release it both in the theatre and on dvd at the same time, like a lot of films are doing these days. Maybe if it was successful enough, we could get a movie AND another season.

Okay, that might be pushing it. But a movie or a mini series or something more would be awesome. Especially in an uncensored format. Veronica Mars has tons more life in her. There are lots of stories left to tell.

I'm with you! I've gotten 6 friends and my husband hooked on VM. All we need to do is lend out our DVD copies of season 1 and 2 to get more people on board. Please pass the love on to Rob Thomas -- we're all there for a VM movie!
