Exclusive: Molly Shannon Is Pushing Daisies!

How's this for a perfect arrangement: Pushing Daisies has landed Molly Shannon for a multi-episode arc.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the delightfully kooky ex-SNL cutup will play Dilly Balsam, the owner of a saltwater-taffy emporium that just so happens to set up shop across the street from the Pie Hole. She's slated to first show up during November sweeps.

OK, if you weren't planning on watching Daisies before, certainly this brilliant piece of casting did the trick, right? Riiiiiiiight?

There is such a thing as over-hype! I hope this show can live up to it.

Funny you should say that, dawgfather, considering that she was nominated for an Emmy award in 2000 for her work on SNL.

The Pushing Daisies machine just keeps getting better and better. Ever since she left SNL, I've been in dire need of more Molly Shannon on my screen.

On the other hand, my boyfriend for some reason can't stand her. BUT! He also LOVES the show (we, um... time traveled to October 3rd and watched the pilot. Yeah, that's it.) and is sure going to watch it, no matter what. Especially because I'm not telling him until her first appearance and it's too late to run away. ]<img border=">

Yeah that maybe but the emmy's are a joke and a half now, soprano's won best drama this year when it was the worst season in the entire show. Just cause they won/were nominated for an emmy doesnt mean they're any good just means that the emmy's are as clueless now as they were back then. But hey if sticking your fingers in your armpits and smelling it cracks you up then well more power to ya.

Oooh wow! I am still neutral about Pushing Daisies because I don't want the hype to ruin it ..

What horrible news, I find Shannon to be so fraking annoying; although I'll still give it a chance, my excitement for the show has now dropped quite a bit.

Actually, just the opposite. I was looking forward to this and now I'm hoping her episodes don't ruin it.

I'm so thrilled you can't imagine. The pilot's absolutely lovely and I'm really looking forward to this. Casting is obviously doing a fantastic job. I thought that before but it keeps getting better.

Molly Shannon is not funny, far from it. The only thing funny about her is that she thinks she is somewhat hot. What a joke.

I was intrigued by the plot of Daisies and was planning on making it one of the shows on my "must see" list. Now with Molly Shannon, it seals the deal. She's hilarious! Good casting!

Ugh, Molly Shannon. She's so not funny. I'll still check out the show, but that sucks she's going to be on it for awhile.
