Exclusive: Men in Trees Extends Branch to Morgan Fairchild

Remember me telling you a few weeks back that Men in Trees was looking for an actress to visit Elmo and become infatuated with all things Marin Frist? Well, said actress has been found.... And she's '80s soap vixen Morgan Fairchild!

Fairchild will guest-star later this season as — get this — herself. "She shows up in Elmo and decides she wants to buy Marin's life rights," reveals MIT creator Jenny Bicks of her one-episode stint, which shoots this month but won't air until February 2008.

Why the delayed gratification?

As you'll recall, Trees already had five unaired episodes in the can from last season when production started up last month. As a result, they're way ahead of schedule. And that, according to industry insiders, is the one and only benefit to being unceremoniously yanked off the air in place of a crap show like October Road. Sorry, but someone had to say it.

Do you know when the first five episodes will be over? I've already seen them (uh... a friend from New Zealand sent them, yeah thats it) so im wondering if the newly filmed episodes will start right after the first 5 or if there will be a break? I could see it going either way so just wondering.

according to Entertainment Weekly, creator Jenny Bicks wrote a 'prequel' episode that will be the first of the season that will get new and old viewers up to speed on Elmo and its inhabitants. And then the five leftover eps. will be next.

crap show like October Road EXCUSE ME? Some of us liked this "crap" - and we eat meat too! Sorry - that was a little below the belt!

Uh, umm, your friend sent them to me too. I really enjoyed them and it makes me anxious for the season to start back up.

I will enjoy seeing the last 5 (New Zealand) eps again, but I agree, I had forgotten where we were in the storyline in the US.

I think it is with Marin moving into her new cabin, Jack and Lynn deciding to get married and Sara and Krycek starting to date. (Sorry, I can only remember the guy by his X-File's name.)

Did you ever WATCH October Road? I bet not, you'd rather judge it as a "crap show".
Well, it isn't. And it does have fans.
Along with Men in Trees.
No I don't agree with the way Trees was yanked in favor of October to premiere, but that's not the shows fault, thats the producer's or whoever was stupid enough to make that decision. So don't blame the show by calling it bad, it only makes you look bad. And it influences others not to tune into a pretty great show that deserves viewership.

That's not the topic here, misskiwi. And I'm sure Michael knows that October Road has a following (every show does), but that's not going to mean that it's NOT crap. And, in MY OPINION, it is crap. Definitely crappier than Men in Trees anyway. Anyway, this sounds kind of funny! Good for the show.

I'll never understand why ABC spends so much time advertising crap like October Road and completely abandons MIT, a far better show. I don't know anyone who can stomach more than 2 minutes of October Road.

I bet Morgan Fairchild will be a hilarious "stalker" of Marin!
I have been watching the episodes as they re-air again on ABC and it makes me miss it even more now! This show was/is my "cute, funny, lovable step away from the craziness of day to day life" show! I can't wait to see 25 episodes in a row!! And back on Fridays where the week can be ended on a good note & the show doesn't have to worry about mass competition.

I'm busting a button waiting for the first MIT. It's been gone too long. And we deserver a payoff so I hope they don't keep Marin and Jack apart too long. All that silliness wears thin. The show will be worth the wait, I'm sure. Go MIT!!!

I completely agree that October Road was crap. I can stomach pretty much any soap show but this and What About Brian were unwatchable. But ...I love Men in Trees sooooo much I could watch it everyday.
