Exclusive: Lucy Liu Joins Mafia
That little arc on Ugly Betty apparently got Lucy Liu thinking about a full-time return to TV. Or perhaps it was the reviews for Code Name: The Cleaner.
Whatever the reason, sources confirm that the onetime Ally McBeal regular has signed on to star in ABC's Darren Star-produced drama pilot Cashmere Mafia, which revolves around four female executives in New York. Liu's costars include Frances O'Connor and Miranda Otto.
So, whaddaya think? Was it Code Name or Ugly Betty that did the trick? I'm leaning toward Code Name. That thing was awful. (So they tell me.)

She was great on Ally McBeal, and it was fun seeing her on TV again on Ugly Betty. I'm glad she's plotting a return. Work is work!

By the way, isn't it Lucy Liu? The whole article cites her as Lucy Lui.

I loved seeing Lucy in Ugly Betty. I can't wait to see the new show!
I know other people have already said it, but just one more for good measure. Michael, you should chnage "Lui" to "Liu"...
