Masi Oka
Masi Oka's bid for world domination continues....

The Heroes Emmy nominee is the latest celeb to sport the famous lactache for the "Body by Milk" campaign — and here's your exclusive first look at his way-cool ad!

The copy reads, "My hero? Think hard. It's milk. Some studies suggest teens who choose it instead of sugary drinks tend to be leaner, plus the protein helps build muscle. So grab a glass. Then you can change the future, too."

The ad makes its debut on Sept. 1 in select Marvel comics.

Doesn't it just make you want to chug a glass of the creamy white stuff? (I'm talking about milk, people.)

I know that--as a vegan--I am in the minority, but seeing some of my favorite stars with bovine slime smeared on their upper lip just grosses me out! I've been waiting for something like 20 years for this nauseating campaign to end.

However, I'm not saying everyone should conform to my way of thinking (remember, I'm the vegan who HATES PETA and everything they spew). I'm just pointing out that there are some of us out here who aren't fans of the milk propaganda lobby, either.

As a vegetarian, not vegan, mother, I feed milk to my children for nutritional reasons not because some ad is telling me to. It's better for children to see their tv "heroes" in milk ads than in say, a Pepsi ad anyway. And they do pay attention to that stuff. As for their ad's, they are pretty awesome. Hayden's add is pretty cool too, but I think Masi's is way better.
Really tho, isn't everything propaganda these days.

"The ad makes its debut on Sept. 1 in select Marvel comics."

And yet, DC Comics ponied up big (so comic book industry rumors go) to publish the online comics in graphic novel form this November.

Look like Marvel will come out ahead!

Milk is a sugary drink. It's called lactose... that's a sugar!

Ewwww!

Anyway, I'm lactose intolerant. I'll chug a nice glass of soy milk though.

However, I'm not saying everyone should conform to my way of thinking (remember, I'm the vegan who HATES PETA and everything they spew). I'm just pointing out that there are some of us out here who aren't fans of the milk propaganda lobby, either.

Agreed, but my reasons might differ. Most people can't digest dairy anyway, but just don't know it. The dairy companies want us to believe we need dairy so they can get rich, but it isn't even true. It's a very successful marketing campaign they've got there.

However, I do think the milk ads are cute. And Masi is so pretty.

Most people can't digest it because it was designed or evolved (whatever works for you) to feed baby cows. And I am not a baby cow!

I wouldn't feed human breast milk to a calf... but that's just me.

I'm not lactose intolerant, but I jokingly say I'm lactose indifferent. ;)

All I can say from my own experience is that when I stopped eating meat, I felt better. When I stopped eating/drinking dairy products, I felt TEN times better than I did when I gave up meat.

With all the different types of milk out there now (soy, rice, almond...mmm, almond...), plus all the calcium alternatives, I don't miss animal milk at all.

I will admit...a couple of times a year, I may be with friends who decide to order pizza, and I'll have a slice, but I know I will probably feel rotten the next day (sometimes, it's worth it).

You don't have to google too far before you find all sorts of evidence that humans shouldn't be drinking animal milk, and then on top of that, there are all the growth hormones that are used on cows that show up in the milk. To the moms out there who think they are feeding their kids milk for nutritional reasons, research it. Don't take my word for it. (Also, read what the dairy industry has to say in its defence.)

I'm not saying anyone has to believe what I believe, but I think it's important to be fully informed.
