Exclusive: Jericho on Verge of Renewal

OK, this is nuts!

Multiple sources are telling me that CBS is thisclose to sealing a deal to bring Jericho back for at least eight episodes, possibly at mid-season.

My spies caution that this is in no way official, but it certainly sounds like it could be by day's end. It's now just a matter of signing the actors to new deals and, according to one insider, finding a new soundstage to house the show's sets.

To say this would be a huge victory for crazy TV fans everywhere would be the understatement of the frakkin' millennium.

That would be frickin AMAZING!

However, has any of the cast moved on to other projects since the cancellation?

Eight would be a start, it would at least show that CBS actually listens to their viewers. Hope it's true, CBS my household misses you. Until renewal, carry on Rangers and NUTS!

Thanks for the update. While I do not mean to question your sources, we will wait with baited breath until an official announcement is made over at CBS.

Okay, I luurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrves me the news that they're in discussion for an 8-episode renewal for Jericho. I'll be very giddy if it happens, but one more thing:

If Jericho gets an 8-episode renewal, then it points out the . . . err, how to put it? . . . error of The CW walking away from what reportedly was the Less Amenable Gilmore changing the contract demands to an 8-episode final season rather than a 13-episode final season. Since proportionally, Gg is *the far* bigger hit and far more necessary for its network than Jericho is for its network, Jericho's revival, if it happens this way, will make The CW's peeps look all the more like they were, as euphemistically as I can put it, overreacting to the change in episode count demanded by one or both of the Gilmore Girls.

This is some of the best news ever.

CBS you can go from Zero to Hero if this happens.

I'll take the eight episodes and mid season replacement. Then a full season 3 !!

Save Jericho !!

Outstanding news! I don't think the decision makers at CBS understood what a hot property Jericho really is. NUTS! And a big thankyou to Ausiello for the inside info.

Thanks for the news! As a parent, I love Jericho for taking the high road. How many shows ask your children "What kind of world do you want?" I just hope it is true!

I am already almost in tears (of joy) at just the thought of this coming true. I am eagerly anticipating the word of renewal from CBS and I think I would even give Les, Nina and Kelly a big hug and thank you if this happens, which I really think it will. I can't imagine them throwing away such a wonderful opportunity with all the publicity we have created, they could spin this into the biggest thing ever for CBS and for Jericho!! -signed, waiting patiently for my beloved Jericho!
