Exclusive: Gilmore Guy Gets a Private Life

After trying to keep Gilmore Girls' Lorelai and Luke apart, this is gonna be a cakewalk. Sources confirm that David Sutcliffe is being added to the cast of Private Practice as a love interest for — but of course — Kate Walsh's mantrap, Addison.

What's that, you say? "But Addison is already pretty flirty with Tim Daly's Doc Wilder"?

Yeah, don't expect things to go smoothly there. But for Sutcliffe, at least, the gig ought to be a breeze. Whereas GG's L&L had a legion of supporters already in place when his Christopher eloped with his on-again/off-again Girl-friend, Addison and Pete have scarcely begun their mating dance.

So what do you think, gang? Do you predict fireworks between Sutcliffe and Walsh... or just a wee sparkle? If it's the latter, be nice. I think after the beating he took from Gilmore fans last season, the guy's been through enough. — Additional reporting by Ben Katner

It's hard to tell without seeing if they have on screen chemistry. I think they ought to start out with a hot and heavy fling to make Doc Finch jealous and then see where it goes.

I think it is great news. I cant really tell about the chemistry just yet, but we will see. I think Addison should date around. Besides the girl needs some sex.

i just hope that private practice gets cancelled and addison can go back to greys anatomy..i dont really enjoy seeing another meridith, when the first one is one of the most hated character on television....PLUS GOSSIP GIRL needs the private practice viewers...GOSSIP GIRL is guilty pleasure that i look forward to every week and i hope it stays on for a few seasons.

The Private Practice cast is large enough as is. I feel like the writers are just starting to get a feel for the current cast members. Half the time it feels like Tim Daly or whoever will appear for no other reason than to get their allotted screen time. I'd tell the writers to spend their time making the wonderful Amy Brenneman's character more likeable before they worry about adding another regular.

I've been lukewarm about this show so far... wanted sooooo badly to like it because I LOVE Addison... but now, with the addition of David Sutcliff, I doubt I will be watching anymore. I'll give it a try, but have a feeling I will be turning over to catch Kitchen Nightmares now.

Yay! Another bland 40ish actor that we "know" from another show. Private Practice will go down as the best cast with the least chemistry in television history.

Really? Sorry, David Sutcliffe is NOT my favorite to begin with. And does he really have the backbone to handle red hot Addison? Let's get on with the Addison/Pete pairing already!

I was hoping that David's character would end up with Lorelei on GG, and now he is gonna be on PP. Hooray! He is one of the hottest men on TV. Smart move, Shondra.

Thank god is all I can say. Am I the only one who sees that Addison and Pete have absolutely NO chemistry at all. Tim Daly really should have been re-cast along with Merrin Dungey in my mind. Hopefully Mr. Sutcliffe will have a smidgeon of chemistry with Walsh. I'm still hoping for an Addy/Cooper pairing! Heh.
