Exclusive: Gilmore Comeback a Religious Experience

Nobody can ever say that Matt Czuchry is a victim of typecasting. Sources confirm to me exclusively that Czuchry is following up his memorable stint as hard-living bad boy Logan on Gilmore Girls with an arc on Friday Night Lights as — I kid you not — a devout Christian. Natch, he's being introduced to the show via the newly religious Lyla. He'll first show up in FNL's 12th episode when Lyla guests on his Christian radio show.

So what do you think, people? Is this some heaven-sent casting news — can I get an amen? — or did the devil make FNL do it? Feel free, and in fact obliged, to discuss. This is the best news I've had in a while! I've never watched FNL, but I certainly will for Matt! Just wait till you see who you've been missing all this time! Not that there is anything wrong with Matt.

I can really see him seizing this role with gusto! I'm reminded of Dabney Coleman as the Reverend Merle Jeter on Mary Hartman Mary Hartman! I think Matt has that kind of oily snake-oil salesman in him. That should be fun. By the way, I am STILL loving FNL this season. And as superficial as it sounds, I think it really helps to have it on Friday nights!
