Exclusive Friday Night Lights, Trace Casting Scoops!

Good thing Thursdays are slow here in the Amish country, 'cause the Ausiello Report's casting scoop cup runneth over today.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Nip/Tuck's Jessalyn Gilsig has been recruited to play the recurring role of Connie Britton's hip, single and smart sister on Friday Night Lights.

Meanwhile, E.T.'s BFF, Henry Thomas, is joining the cast of Without a Trace as Anthony LaPaglia's new nemesis.

Feel free to rant/rave about these latest castings below. Meanwhile, I've got a Rumspringa vacation to get back to.

i hate the FNL casting. Gilsig is miserable. I liked her in Boston Public but since that i find her very annoying. Maybe it was just her character on Nip/Tuck is so awful that i find myself hating on her for everything else she does, Heroes included. Now she will bring her annoying self to FNL makes me want to vomit.

I love the FNL casting. Jessalyn Gilsig is awesome. I enjoyed her in Boston Public but loved her in Nip/Tuck and what little she had to do on Heroes.

Sorry about your luck bigmike - may I suggest some Pepto-Bismol?

Big Mike - I would hope the fact that Jessalyn is such a good actress is the ACTUAL reason you have the feelings you do. How else to explain the reasons why you liked her on Boston Public but not the other two shows. Those two charaters are deplorable, at best. Another example of this is for me Powers Booth. Loved him on Deadwood hated him on 24 but that is because Noah Daniels was a snake! See how it works? Peace.

I love Gilsig. SHe could make me watch FNL but then of course she will be buried and obscured by a camera that will be bouncing all around her.

I wasn't that crazy about jesalyn gilsig on boston Public don't hate her but she wasn't a fave of mine but I liked her better than jerry Ryan. Whatever happened to Nicky katt he was hot? However I liked gilsig Ok on heroes but she wasn't in a lot of eppys I will hold off judgement until I see how her character plays out on FNL .

First a major shout out for working "Rumpspringa" into your report. As someone who was born & raised in Lancaster county I give you mad props. Second, I'm excited to see Henry Thomas play a baddie. I enjoy Without a Trace and look forward to seeing his work.

Frank Cincy -- re: " Loved Powers Booth on Deadwood hated him on 24 but that is because Noah Daniels was a snake! "

LMAO...so Cy Tolliver on Deadwood, the character that was filled with bile and anger, a guy who routinely beat and murdered his own employees, beat and killed a few kids, allied himself with the most evil man in town, and constantly would do whatever he could...lie, cheat, or kill...to get his way. That was the character that was the good guy you could relate to??

I take it this means Jessalyn won't be reprising her role as Claire's bio-mom on Heroes?
