Exclusive: ER Doc to Make a House Call

One thing you can say for Princeton Plainsboro: Understaffing is not an issue. Although House's hospital already has hired five new doctors to make the rounds this season, former ER M.D. Michael Michele has just been tapped to scrub in as well.

Now, before you go getting your stethoscope in a knot about your favorites being left to simmer on the back burner, you need to know that the knockout isn't coming in as a series regular. Well, at this point, anyway. What happens is, Doc Crankypants meets the CIA medicine woman when he's called to the agency to care for a patient. She wows him with her bedside manner, and wham, bam, thank-you-ma'am, he invites her to come work for him at PP.

So what do you think, people? Is Michele just what the doctor ordered? -- Additional reporting by Ben Katner

I'd actually have to see ANY of these doctors on-screen, but based on my memories of her ER days, I would love to see Michael Michele on House. She's a good, solid actress and I think would be good as another straightman for the Cottages, a la Foreman. (But hopefully not AS depressing.) We'll have to see. (Good scoop!)

The only thing I've ever seen of Michele is her showkilling performance on Homicide, so I'm quite unenthused about her arrival.

Whatever. Alls I knows is I am more psyched about House coming back than any other show this year. Even Lost! I love how things are so mixed up now. And I love how House is going the American Idol route in choosing his new team. Only three more weeks!

She's a good actress, but I'd like to see if she has any chemistry with Hugh Laurie. Same goes with the other new doctors. From what they've said, the show isn't going to be keeping all of the new people as regulars, so they need to keep the ones who mesh with Hugh Laurie.

Loved her on Homicide and ER. I think she will be a great addition, even if it is only for a few episodes.

I didn't like her on ER at all but maybe she and House will have good banter. I will give it a chance.

Well I hope she does become regular or at least recurring. I've been a fan of Michael Michele for years I thought she did an excellent job on ER & Homicide as well as the short-lived Kevin Hill. Put her with House or Wilson or Foreman somehow I can't see her with Chase.

Ugh. She might physically be a knockout, but the only knocking out I've ever seen her do acting-wise is to put audiences to sleep. Recalling her wooden performances on Homicide and ER, I can't imagine anyone more poorly suited to this show.

On the other hand, I seem to remember thinking she was okay on Kevin Hill, so maybe she's just one of those people who needs material that's really suited to them. A CIA doc might just be fun enough.

not too thrilled at this...michael is lovely to look at, but actress-wise, leaves me cold. no real emotions play across that face...need more animation from her...maybe the doc can do this!
