Murphy Brown fans, prepare to piddle yourselves silly. Boston Legal is reuniting Candice Bergen with her onetime MB squeeze, Scott Bakula.

Sources confirm that Legal creator David E. Kelley has tapped Bakula to guest-star in an upcoming episode as an old beau of Bergen's Shirley Schmidt who she meets up with at a bar.

No word on the exact number of episodes Bakula will appear in, or whether he'll run into fellow Starfleet captain William Shatner during his stay, thereby making the Star Trek universe implode.

This is a great duo to watch. Can't wait. Now if only Bakula would get another series full time.

I love Scott Bakula and wish we could see more of him. Nothing compares to Quantum Leap

What a wonderful idea! Having these two together again can cause some sizzling moments on Boston Legal, and it'll be interesting to see what transpires.

Oh, SWEET!! Only hope that they're signing Bakula for a large bunch of episodes. He's always been great to watch and his work with CB on MB was outstanding. I'm not going to miss these episodes, fer sure. Great casting, guys!

Bakula was on MB long after I had given up on what became a horribly formulaic sitcom, but I like him, so I'm looking forward to seeing them together (especially now that Candice Bergen has learned how to act).:^O

Seeing Rene Auberjonois back on the show this month made me realize how much I miss him from the show. It seems all the characters this season are quirky. No one anchors the show. I think they made a mistake letting him go, rather than finding something compelling for him to do.

Oh SB and Shat need to be in at least one scene together. Even just for a double take :)

I love "boston legal" and fell bad when it gets preempted when there's something "earthshaking" at that time. Why arent there more blogs about this wonderful witty show? I'm not thrilled when it gets too political but that is Kelly's right to do whatever with his show. I love the ties Denny Crane wears and the writes keep up with real current events. Looking forward to this week's show whomever is on it. James Spader is fantastic. The entire cast especially the lawyer who likes "dressing up" makes the show a delight and must see TV.

Before I simply got tired of looking, I found these BL/Star Trek connections (Besides Rene Auberjunois,Armin Shimerman and Shatner of course):

Gary Anthony Williams
Star Trek: Starfleet Command III

John Larroquette
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock

Michael Ensign
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"

Joanna Cassidy
Enterprise

Mark l. Taylor
Voyager

Gregory Itzin
Enterprise

Henry Gibson
Deep Space Nine

But then I found this site (http://www.boston-legal.org/startrek/alumni-list.pdf) with a fairly complete listing of actors doing double duty.

Woo-hoo! Loved Scott on Murphy Brown - he and Candice have great chemistry together. It'd be great if this would turn into a recurring character.

He better keep his hair the way it is in that picture though. When he did Old Christine his hair was wild and scragly. He seemed like a bum on the street
