Exclusive: Bionic Woman Enlists Friday Night Lights Boss!

NBC has drafted one of its MVPs to tinker with Bionic Woman.

According to sources, Friday Night Lights executive producer Jason Katims has agreed to lend a helping hand on the Peacock's highly touted redo as a consultant. The move comes less than a week after the abrupt exit of Bionic boss Glen Morgan, apparently over creative differences.

I'm told Katims will split his time between Bionic and FNL. And I think I speak for FNL fans when I say our brilliant little show better not suffer as a result. I do speak for you guys, right!?

Actually Mike some of us can speak for ourselves. jk:)

Why would NBC disrupt an already fragile show.

Mike if you're there, I gotta ask: are all these exits by producers over "creative differences" really about the direction of the show or are there more complicated details and who truly gets final say as to what direction the show goes in??

I trust Katims and Eick with this show a whole hell of a lot better than Morgan. (They should have brought in Ron Moore.)

Katims is going to need work once they have to cancel "FNL" and NBC needs to keep a mind like his in house. This makes sense.

Why would NBC have to cancel FNL? Low ratings? Well, let's hope that the new night will remedy that!

Let's keep the faith, people!

Yes! You do speak for me!! Don't let our beloved Friday Night Lights suffer anymore than it has already. It's *the* best show on TV!

Katims is terrific - I loved Roswell and I love Friday Night Lights. What I hope is that this will buy more goodwill from the network for our beloved Friday Night Lights!

This can only mean good things for Bionic Woman, since up until now the show has seemed really dark. No one does emotional material like Jason Katims (like Ranger, I was a Roswell fan), so that can be a good thing.

But I'm hoping this means FNL won't suffer. This is the first time Jason Katims is doing two shows at once, isn't it?

agh - so sad. Bionic Woman probably has enough buzz behind it that it could have coasted on its laurels.

Friday Night Lights needs all the help it can get. It's such a brilliant show that it suffers from the affliction that affects so many brilliant shows - critics love it, a small group of fans love it, but it doesn't appeal enough to the "average" viewer to last more than a few years.

How many great shows have been condemned to cancellation in favor of inferior offerings? Why is NBC trying to hurry the demise of this gem?

Dang. I just got hooked on Friday Night Lights, and if that show drops even the tiniest bit in quality because of this, NBC will have really ticked me off. And me by myself might not mean too much to them, but FNL fans have at least been vocal and the network needs our support. Pray this does not cause them to lose it.

Well, I'm glad that they believe Katims can help Bionic Woman, and I'm excited to see what he can do for the show, but I do hope FNL isn't affected.

Anyway... CONGRATS FNL ON THEIR FIRST EMMY! :D

I don't know why, but my gut feeling tells me that Bionic Woman will be cancelled before FNL.

I'm not-- unfortunately-- saying I think FNL will make it through the whole season (I sure hope it does). It's just that pretty much every time I hear any buzz about Bionic Woman (a show I was at first looking forward to) it's either lukewarm or negative. But, who knows? Maybe it'll be a pleasant surprise.

I'm sure Jason Katims will be great for Bionic Woman (I was a Roswell fan too), but FNL better not suffer for it...

Add me to the chorus of those praying "Lights" doesn't suffer because of Katims split loyalties.

If Katims has people he can completely trust to maintain the high quality of "Lights" (like JJ Abrams had when he handed the "Lost" reigns to Damon Lindleof and Carlton Cuse) then OK.
