Exclusive: Bionic Woman Says Bye-Bye to Boss

Maybe he got a better offer from The Six Million Dollar Man. Although no official reason was given, The Ausiello Report has learned that Bionic Woman executive producer Glen Morgan (of X-Files fame) has left the buzzed-about fall series. (Can you say "creative differences"? Good, because we're not supposed to speculate.)

Says NBC: "Glen Morgan has helped create a great template for Bionic Woman but has decided to pursue other endeavors now. We wish him the best. The creative team of David Eick and Jason Smilovic continue as executive producers on Bionic Woman, and we are excited about the new series' debut September 26."

How about you? Still excited about Woman without her main man? In his absence, will his successors make the show better, stronger, faster than before? Discuss. — Additional reporting by Ben Katner

The executive producer has little to no impact on leaving a show after just a few episodes. Just ask the staff from Commander in Chief!

I doubt if viewers of the show will care--or even notice--who the executive producer is, or isn't.

Doesn't matter, I stopped planning on watching as soon as they cast Isaiah Washington.

Wait, I've lost track of how many times they've recast and how many showrunners and producers have been in and out of the project; anyone got a tally?

Maybe he wanted to start work on Final Destination 4 :)
As long as David Eick is guiding the show then I remain hopeful.

Cool, I was in it for Smilovic and Eick anyway. Always feared that Morgan would give the show a more X-Files-esque form. Or, eek, a Final Destination-esque one. (LOL)

Once around for the Bionic women was enough, any fresh ideas in TV land, this redo of old shows is getting to be a pain in the butt.

I was very interested in this show. But I also lost interest when Washington joined the cast. I have no plans to watch now.

I had an English professor who said that any concievable literary device has already been covered by the Bible, so even Shakespeare, in a sense, was redux. I don't see the harm in taking an old tv show premise and making it "Better, stronger, faster" itself, especially in light of relaxed censorship rules and the advancement of sfx. Besides, we get the same dopey sitcoms year after year and we have at least , what, 6 or 7 CSIL&OCINCISQWERTY on simultaneously. At least with BW they have the cajones to admit that it's a remake!

Believe me, as someone who has enjoyed Michelle Ryan on the British soap "Eastenders" for several years--she's an excellent actress and obviously gorgeous, so I'm looking forward to seeing her as the Bionic Woman.

I think the show will be different enough from the original--while keeping the basic story--so that people like me, who loved Lindsay Wagner as Jaime Sommers, can still welcome the updated, darker version with Ryan. Give it a chance.

I've never had any intentions on watching the show in the first place, so obviously the change doesn't affect me. And it has nothing to do with Isaiah being on the show because as much as I despise what he said, he's apologized and it's time to move on. There is really no need to hang onto the past if he's apologized, GLAAD accepted it, and everyone else involved is moving on. Let it go already. Just because he did a bad thing never made him a bad actor.

yes, finally more reason to kill the show slowly. My prediction is the show will be cancelled after 3 episodes. Long live The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

ok, Thurs. a.m., so your whole point in posting about a show you don't care about and an actor you don't care about was...?

We've got Jesse on Kyle XY... doing basically what the Bionic Woman will be doing... so why bother to even watch this one. I'm not even going to tune in for the first episode.
