Exclusive: Alias Badass Spies Money Gig

This could be the last major piece of TV casting I bestow upon you guys in a while, so take some time to savor it.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Dirty Sexy Money has tapped the fierce and fabulous Gina Torres to play the ex-wife of Darling-family nemesis Simon Elder (Blair Underwood). The character is described as gorgeous, lithe and beaming with intelligence — yep, that's Torres!

The role was originally intended to be recurring, but in light of you-know-what, it looks like Torres will just barely squeeze in one episode. Sigh....

Looks like I might have to add DSM to my viewing schedule. I love seeing the BDHs on TV, but I wish they were all in the same show...hm, what could they find for them?

Dirty Sexy Money and Chuck are my two prime concerns about the writers' strike. I absolutely love both shows and I'm not sure either is strong enough ratings wise to make it back next fall if the 2007-08 season ends in the next few weeks. Otherwise I'd say GO WRITERS! But I don't want to see these two shows become strike casualties.

Gina Torres rocks. She was great as Anna on Alias and was so memorable as Jasmine on Angel.

Not to mention, one of our favorite BrownCoats ever. I love Gina Torres! She was great on Alias as Anna and even better on Firefly as Zoe. DSM is one of my favorite shows so it's just an extra bonus having Gina aboard!

For your last casting news of 07, this is a good one! As a fan of the show, I think Gina would be electric in this role opposite Mr. Simon Elder.

Gina Torres rocks. She was great as Anna on Alias and was so memorable as Jasmine on Angel. That was the season of Angel that should just be forgotten. Horrible main story that season. Thanks for bringing it up. However, it wasn't her fault that storyline blew major chunks. Seems like a good casting choice for DSM.

That was the season of Angel that should just be forgotten. Horrible main story that season Wow I couldn't disagree more. This was, IMO, Angel's best season.

damn. Blair and Gina are both waaay hot. I loved her as Zoe. I think she's hotter as zoe than any of her other characters-Loved the way she dressed! She rocked the leather spece-cowboy outfits. Blair is enough to make me want to watch again, though. I watched the first episode and I liked it alright, but I wasn't hooked.
