It's Official: CW Axes Aliens in America
Aliens in America by Segei Bachlakov/The CW
Someone alert the nice folks at the MIA Network — some fresh product's headed their way.
I just got the unofficial official word that one of this season's best new comedies, Aliens in America, has been axed. Despite rave reviews when it debuted last fall, the CW laffer went largely ignored by viewers. Which sucks for them, because they missed out on a fantastic little show.
I've got better news for fans of another CW comedy, Reaper. I'm told it's "90 percent likely" that it'll be on the network's fall sked.
Stay close to the Ausiello Report throughout the weekend for the latest renewals and cancellations ahead of next week's upfronts. In the meantime, share your favorite Aliens memories in the comments section below.

What's wrong with Aliens in America? I don't know.
What's wrong with America? Dawn Ostroff is still running the CW. Incompetence continues to be rewarded. How much worse can this network possibly get?!

I'll post here what i posted at CW site.
The cancellation of this show just proves that mindless zombies run the CW who cannot see a good thing when its in front of their faces.
The CW has renewed utter garbage however, cannot renew something as good as Aliens in America. How about doing things logically for once CW. Having a show that is diverse, actually has a real story line. A controversial issue involved also not to rule out the fact that its very hilarious, very entertaining. Keep on a show that has something new, a potential for greatness. Something better and different from all the angst and sob shows of which there are already too many. Other networks already have the better angst and sob, romance shows. So CW is not going to achieve anything by running them. This show actually has a chance of getting somewhere because there is nothing else like it on any networks.
Don't be mindless zombies CW, keep something very good on the air.
It seems there is no end to how screwed up this network can get. They seem very determined on losing viewers. And are basically building a pit for themselves to crash and burn in.
Frak You CW!

With Aliens in America not renewed on the CW I can now remove that network from my radar completely (and I use the term network loosely). I had given the CW one more chance after the cancellation of Gilmore Girls but it appears the development of quality programming is not what they see as a necessity. I cannot imagine the survival of this network for much longer. Thanks to Scott Patterson and the rest of the cast for a great season, just a shame they weren't even given a chance by the network that scheduled them.

+1
I loved this show totally, and it was the ONLY show I religiously watched each week...even as it moved from Monday to Sunday.
I had dearly hoped CBS or another network might pick it up. I will buy the DVD set to keep it forever...I hope one is released.

I too loved Aliens in America. However, I did think it would be axed because of the ratings. Face it, TV shows are about business. If no one is watching then no advertising dollars are made and then the show is canceled. I also loved Men In Trees and followed it all over. If shows are to survived people need to watch them.
I will miss Aliens but I am not surprised.

I saw a lot of potential in this show and if it had been given a chance to grow, it could have become one of my all-time favorites. Now, we'll never know. I hoped it would become a classic in the tradition of its predecessors, Malcolm In The Middle and The Wonder Years before it.
I loved the episode where Justin and Raja's class was discussing what they would take to a desert island, and Raja said he'd take his best friend, Justin. Of course, both boys were taunted mercilessly and everyone assumed they were gay. It was just the right balance of hilarious and touching, and felt just the way things happened when I was in high school.
I am going to miss hearing my musical god Elvis Costello's always-relavant anthem every week, (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding.
Fortunately, I kept the best episodes (because I doubt there will be a DVD release). I wish there were season two episodes to add to my collection, but that's life (and ratings).
Thanks to The CW for putting this show on the air in the first place and "booooo" to the viewers who never even gave it a shot. It's everybody's loss.

What do you expect? This Dawn chick is the same dumb nut that cancelled EVERWOOD!
ONE TREE HILL is the ONLY show that I now watch on the CW. If it were on another channel, I'd gladly take the CW off my channel list!
Dawn "Ostrich" again has her head in the sand and her butt in the air....

I'll be honest. I've never seen the show. After CW cancelled Veronica Mars, I vowed not to watch anything on there again.. Crap like America's Next Top Models may get good ratings, but they always cancel the shows that are actually good.. I didn't want to take my chances on loving another show, only to have it cancelled... (My watching it wouldn't have affected it, anyway, since I'm not a special, brainwashed Nielsen viewer..) Too bad... CW needs to just get rid of Dawn Ostroff and maybe some others... She clearly doesn't know what she's doing or how to market good shows..

i havent bloogged in a while, but when i found this out i felt an utter urge. I am sOOOO PISSED OFF. tihs was such an underrated show!!!! Even more that Gossip Girl and our olf fvaorite may it rest in peace Veronica mars. this channel is totally sucking apart from REAPER (thank god that didnt get the axe...) and GG. actually we shouldnt be surprised seeing as veronica mars was also cancelled. i guess in conclusion, farmers wife, top model, pussylicious, and beauty and the geek are much worthy of airtime. I LOVE ALIENS IN AMERICA. IT IS HILAROIUS!!!!!!!

As if Dawn Ostroff is any different than any other person running a network. I hated seeing Veronica Mars get cancelled as much as the next person, but at the end of the day, The CW is a business. They did everything in their power to make VM more marketable, which made an inferior Season 3, but they couldn't make it work.
As for Aliens in America, I've seen every episode and I loved every minute of them. It was not only funny, but it also had great characters. Through these characters, the show provided social commentary that made its audience think. I'll be sad to see the show go. However, the ratings were really low so I'm not surprised.
Anyone who says the CW doesn't have any good shows needs to watch a few episodes of Supernatural. It was on the bubble for a little bit, then hit a ratings high and now it's coming back for a fourth season. It's very good.

I didn't particularly like Aliens in America (I found Justin and a few other characters unbearably annoying), but I have to say, it was still one of the best shows on the CW. That network is turning into pure garbage for teenybopper girls. What's next, a David Archuleta reality show? A network version of Hannah Montana? A new 90210? (oh wait...)
Reaper and Supernatural are both quality shows, but even then I sometimes forget this network is even on.
