CSI's Case of the Murdered Diva
There's nothing I love more than a good gimmick, and this one qualifies as great.
The outside-the-box thinkers over at CSI and Two and a Half Men are toying with the idea of swapping writing staffs for an episode to air later this season. And although the switcheroo is far from a done deal, Men creator Chuck Lorre has already hatched a killer plot for his potential CSI debut — and it's sure to leave many a tongue wagging in Hollywood.
According to sources, his CSI episode would revolve around the grisly death of a disliked sitcom diva — a subject the comedy vet has plenty of experience with, having legendarily clashed with Roseanne and Cybill Shepherd on their eponymous series. And lest he leave any doubt that he is drawing from his own personal nightmares… er, experiences, he has gone so far as to reach out to ex-Cybill sidekick Christine Baranksi to play the deceased shrew's co-star.
Natch, Lorre's spokeswoman insists the proposed story is not based on "one person in particular. It's an amalgamation of all the different sitcom divas that he's worked with."
Can't wait to hear what Team CSI has planned for its CSI's Men episode. That show's boss, Carol Mendelsohn, cut her teeth at Melrose Place.

If they cast Alicia Witt as the daughter on the show, I may make a puddle. But seriously... this NEEDS to happen.

I gotta give props to where props is due. It takes some major nads for CBS to ok this idea. I'd love to see the writers of The Office swap with Battlestar Galactica. "Hey Madame President did you get to see the bad call at Pyramid game last night? What was that about?" "Yeah I know it was weird." (Awkward silence) "Well I guess I better get back to interrogating the cylon." "Yeah, ok. I'll talk to you later." "Ok" (The president looks longingly at Adama as he walks away.)

Yes...Yes we do - what about it?
I would love to see this happen. I love cross-over episodes and there are quite a few that I would like to see.
How about a Numbers/Without a Trace cross-over?
Maybe a Bones/House cross-over?
Why not a Heroes/ER cross-over?

Ranger,
Just keep in mind that this is a swap of writing staffs only, not characters (as far as we know).

Of course! How I Met Your Mother and Jericho are fantastic.
I don't watch CSI or Two and a Half Men, but I love this idea. I wish it would happen with two shows that I actually watch.

I'm not a CSI fan, but I'd watch this episode. I love Christine Baranksi. She was the best part of Cybill.
And yes, dawgfather, we who are not yet in our dotage DO watch CBS occasionally. You should check out Numb3rs and NCIS, if nothing else.

How original-the number one network is only for "over 50", huh?
Only people who have to use misspelled animal names would think that.....
I think the "Diva" story idea will be a hoot....but if Alan Rosenberg makes another cameo on this-that would be worth the price of admission!

A "House/BOnes" crossover would be great! Can you see Dr. Brennan and House in scenes together? Maybe even a little attraction between them? Also, the squints v the ducklings! Overinflated egos and superintelligence go head to head!

Who doesn't watch CBS? I don't care if it gets mocked for its large quantity of crime dramas, they work and people come back to watch them every week. At least they have a point other than some other shows that I will not mention because I will get some serious come-back comments from angry fans. If you think only old people in nursing homes watch CBS, what channel do you watch dawgfather? We could easily mock the shows you like if you told us. On the other hand, I hope this writer switch goes through. I love both the shows. CBS ROCKS!!!
