Exclusive: NCIS Star Goes AWOL!
NCIS by Cliff Lipson/CBS
There's another shake-up brewing over at NCIS, only this time it's happening on screen.
CBS and Paramount declined comment, but sources confirm to me exclusively that a major castmember — a series regular — is on the way out. And as tempted as I am to blab this person's identity, after much soul searching, I've decided that doing so would prove WTS (Way Too Spoilery). And here's why: The actor in question will exit the series in a dramatic fashion. I might even go so far as to call it a major freakin' twist, the repercussions of which will be felt well into next season and, perhaps, beyond.
One thing I feel reasonably comfortable letting you know is that the aforementioned twist does, in fact, occur this season — i.e., sometime between tomorrow night's post-strike return and the season finale in May.
Let the guessing game begin in the comments section below!

Nooooo! I don't want anyone to leave! I'm assuming it's not Ducky's helper guy that has a secret relationship with the Asian chicky. Anyone else, I don't want them to go!

I need to second JenRar's NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
To temper my distress I just need to remind myself that I hated that Kate left but ended up liking Ziva (and the show) better than I did Kate.
But still.... I hate change. *sigh*
I'm sort of hoping it's Jenny. Just because I wouldn't hate her departure as much as others. Second would have to be McGee, although he's grown on me. I don't want to even contemplate one of the others leaving.

I am guessing Jenny too. I know it is only wishful thinking on my part, but she is the only one that I wouldn't miss. As far as I am concerned, anybody could be top management, but Jethro's team is what makes the show pop!

Gosh I'm hopin' it's Jenny. I can't stand her. I wouldn't be sad at all if she left. I can't imagine anyone else leaving.

It can't be Mgee, I hope. He's so much fun to watch. Anyone consider it might be Tony? It certainly would be a shock and twist. I really like Ziva, so, I hope it isn't her. Could be Gibbs, Mark Harmon has been known for stuff like that.

Yeah, Jenny is my top choice for leaving. I like her but story-line and character-wise, I want everyone else to stay. heh (And the comments are throwing me, as my name is Jenny. hehe)

Okay, just like when they killed Kate before - we knew a death was coming. At the time I was only willing to part with McGee. I hate to admit it but Ducky was my second choice at the time. This time I'm hoping it's Jenny. She doesn't really fit. McGee is now my second choice. But I really don't think Mike would be making such a big deal if it weren't one of the big ones - Gibbs (not gonna happen), Tony, Ziva or Abby. Any one of those three leaving would DEVASTATE the show.

GAHHHH.... NOOO!!! *sobs uncontrollably* Please say it's Jenny, because she's the only one that the show can really afford to lose and stay the same. If it's Mark Harmon, how can the show possibly survive? If CBS sinks TIVA or McAbby, they'd better be ready for a flood of angry letters from shippers... including me.

I've never seen an episode, but on behalf of spoiler-haters everywhere, thanks Mike, for ruining what otherwise would have been a great surprise

Thanks for the scoop, Mike; and for not revealing exactly who is leaving.
My guess is Jenny... I just hope that she doesn't have to take a bullet to the head like poor, departed Kate.
Is there any chance that it's Tony? Tony's departure would be a huge loss for the show, but if Jeanne (Scottie Thompson) returns and Jeanne and Tony reconcile and ride off into the sunset together, I guess I could live with that.
Please, please, please, don't let it be Abby or McGee.

Now how in the heck am I suppose to get any sleep tonight?
Since Lauren lives in Illinois and is married with 3 young sons, I think it might be her.
Edit: 4/16/08 - I don't think she's the one anymore. EDIT: 5/4/2008 - I still don't.
Thanks Michael, for giving us something on NCIS.

Pauley Perrette is filming right now, could that be a clue that her character has been killed off.

I can't really imagine that Mark Harmon would be leaving after the network basically chucked the show's *creator* overboard in order to keep Harmon around, so I'm going to (prayerfully) knock Gibbs off the list of possibilities (and hope like hell I don't get a huge punch to the gut when the time finally comes...)
As for the rest, when we lost Kate, I was devastated, but Cote de Pablo's performance as Ziva has totally won me over, and while I still miss Kate on occasion, the show has continued to be every bit as enjoyable with Ziva as it was before. In fact, I have to say it's probably one of the most successful character replacements I've seen outside of the "Law & Order" franchise in years.
I can only hope that whomever is leaving, they'll do as good of a job bringing in a replacement and letting him or her grow on us the way they did with Ziva.
