Exclusive: O.C. Bad Boy Gets Desperate

Desperate Housewives has tapped onetime O.C. jock Chris Carmack for a potentially recurring role, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Carmack will play Susan's studly cousin Tim, who shows up on Wisteria Lane to help his older cuz with her taxes and ends up doing Mike's, too. (If the character sounds oddly familiar, here's why.)

Housewives is also casting a teenaged version of Tim, who'll be seen in a flashback. Tim apparently witnessed a tragic event, possibly involving Susan... and Howie Long... and a series of Radio Shack ads.

I kid.

Weigh in on Carmack's casting below. And please, I beg of you, resist the urge to… oh, let me just get it out of the way now: Welcome to Wisteria Lane, bitch!

Hey, Mike! That was Howie LONG in the Radio Shack commercials, not Howie Mandel!

His "scoop" usually isn't right, so why should his jokes be factually correct?

Katcon: Good catch! I got the Radio Shack part right, yes? Or was it Circuit City? All I remember for sure is that the commericals were baaaaaaad.

Nice to see anyone from The O.C. get work on television. That show was my favorite of all time and I miss it every day. I wish they would bring it back.:|

SPOLIER ALERT! Sorry Michael, but you've got it WRONG. Tim comes to help SUSAN with HER taxes while Mike is still in Rehab. (He doesn't come to help Mike. Tim didn't witness a tragedy in the 90s involving Susan, but years ago on Wisteria Lane, Tim witnessed something involving the MAYFAIR family (Dana Delany, et al) and therefore he will play into that mystery storyline. Look for him to have scenes with "Katherine" and "Dylan" and to have an unusual interest in teenage girls in general. Michael--you've got to do stronger research!!!

Nothing could be more traumatic for Carmack's character Tim than when he'd played a student named Laird on "Strangers With Candy" who had to make out, many times, with Amy Sedaris's character Jerri Blank. Amy is a knockout, but Chris had to look at Jerri's stained overbite up close and personal!

Sounds like someone wants Mike's job...

I think Chris went to the same high school as me so yay for him and he's new job!

Great news. I loved Chris on The OC and they made the big mistake of getting rid of him too quickly. The show went steadily down hill after that.
He will be great on D. H's.

Well, he is nice to look at, but I don't remember if he can act?
