Ausiello Scoop: Lauren Lee Smith Joins CSI - Ausiello Report

The L Word's Lauren Lee Smith has been tapped to join CSI as Jorja Fox's pseudo-replacement, a CBS spokesperson confirms.

Smith is expected to play the character of Bryce Adams, a "flirtatious, witty and strong-willed non-conformist" that is recruited to join the graveyard shift — also known as the role that Katee Sackhoff inexplicably got passed over for.

In addition to L Word, Smith was a regular on the syndicated series Mutant X and had a role in the CBS comedy pilot, Can Openers, which failed to make it on the fall sked.

Lauren Lee Smith also did a couple of seasons of Mutant X. She's been working steadily for almost a decade.

God, I hate her. I think I may hate her even more than Jorja Fox. I first saw her in that MTV movie where they made that boy band (and, I'm actually cracking up right now thinking about it).

That's when I first started hating her, then I saw her in Mutant X, and I confirmed that she's crap.

Side not: 2gether! Man, that was awful and funny to watch (but, I was like 13, so I have an excuse, sort of).

Yeah, I used to watch Mutant X too. She looked better with dark hair, though. I don't think she has the gravitas to pull off being on CSI against real actors, but we'll see how it pans out.

Please tell me she will not be a new love interest for Grissom. And I don't get why people are always hating on Jorja Fox. I loved her on the show and her other work.

Aaah, I was really hoping they'd just have Wendy become a field agent. Now that woulda been totally awesome! I love her. Oh, and let's all start a campaign to promote Archie to take Warrick's place! I could look at him all day! Yummy!

Speaking of Warrick, I didn't like what they did tonight. Why must these shows kill off the characters?

I much prefer open door exits, like Sara's. Of course, I knew as soon as he got cleared, that he was going to get killed. The only real surprise was in who did it. But even that wasn't too much of a shock. I've never trusted that slimy undersheriff. I didn't like him on here any better than the equally slimy lawyer he plays on Medium. X-(

Hey, wasn't Bryce supposed to be a cop? "Flirtatious, witty and strong-willed-non-conformist". In other words, a Mary-Sue. I don't care much about the actress either, but I'll judge when I see. P.S.: NO ONE CAN REPLACE JORJA FOX/SARA SIDLE. I hope she comes back soon, and I hope the new character (and the ones coming) rises to the ocassion.

Don't you know that when you're tell what happened in a story you've got to write SPOILER ALERT? I hadn't seen the finale episode as yet and planned to watch it later. You gave everything away. About the end of the show, who killed him, everything. Pleas write around it if a show just took place and if you have to spill the beans, write SPOILER ALERT so that the reader would know to skip your post. You killed it for me. Now when I'm watching the taped episode, there'll be no thrill for me. Thanks for nothing.

I have to agree. A spoiler alert would have been nice. I was actually watching CSI (I taped it too) when I read post about Warrick. I was only half way done. I almost stopped watching but finished it anyway.
