Exclusive: Nip/Tuck Diva Relocates to CSI: NY

Jessalyn Gilsig by Michael Becker/FX, Gary Sinise by Cliff Lipson/CBS
Turns out, it was Gary Sinise's arms, not a thick slab of concrete, that caught Jessalyn Gilsig when she nosedived off her roof on Nip/Tuck last month.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Gilsig has been tapped to play a new love interest for Sinise on CSI: NY. Her character, which I first teased in last week's Ask Ausiello, is described as a sexy, professional, mid-thirties female who works in the mayor's office.

Gilsig's slated to appear in at least three episodes with an option to return next season. Guess they're waiting to see how viewers take to Big Mac's new lovah. And to that I say, why wait till then? Let the pre-judging begin in the comments section below!

Mike,
Not that I don't care about Jessalyn Gilsig (although I admit I don't care for CSI: anything), but have you seen the episode clips floating around for the next episode of Lost? Andrea Roth finally shows up. (Sort of!)

They have only 7 post-strike episodes and they're wasting another 3 episodes (in addition to the earlier 13-episode arc) on yet another Mac-centered story line? X-(

I wish they'd give more time to Hawkes or Flack, or maybe remember that Lindsay and Danny are a couple instead of focusing everything on Horati...I mean Mac.

Thank you, Michael, for continuing to cover this show. Even when I don't like the news you bring, I do appreciate you and your hard work.

I completely agree, Holly. As badly as the 333 storyline tanked earlier this season, you'd think the writers would get a clue and give Mac storylines a rest.

If they wanted to bring on a new love interest, it should have been for Hawkes who hasn't had a single one in the entire show's run. I think Hawkes and Lindsay have averaged about 1 minute of screen time per episode this season. I'd much rather see the two of them and D/L scenes than anything else Mac related.

While I like Mac, I too would like to see more storylines with Danny and Lindsay. They have been pushed so far back that I was beginning to think that I missed something and they weren't a couple anymore.

What I wanna know is, when is Jessalyn gonna return to "Heroes" as Claire's pyro-mommy? And while they're at it, whatever happened to invisible Claude?

I think Gina (Jessalin) just might be the girl to capture Mac's heart - hot, strong and seductive. It will make the show better. What's the harm in trying?

Let's wait until we see if there's a chemistry between the two (which is apparently what the studio is doing)before deciding whether or not she remains in the show. I liked his old flame. Didn't anyone else?

I don't normally watch CSI:NY but I will now! I adore Jessalyn Gilsig and was mortified when she was killed off in Nip/Tuck so Iam glad I can still get my Jessalyn fix. Thing is though, I want her back in Heroes, because her character rocked ion that as well!

I actually thought Peyton was a good idea and rather liked her (until they started dumbing her down so Mac could be the one to come up with all the answers).

I don't have a problem with the concept of a love interest for Mac, but since they had a major love interest story line for him last season and have spent almost the entire season so far this year on a personal story line for him, I wish they would have used the remaining episodes on the other five characters and waited until next season to introduce another personal arc for Mac.

I think it's about time, I hope it's lots of hot chemistry.

I only wish it was ME.

What can I say, I've had a soft spot for Gary Sinise since "The Stand"!

Joking aside, I don't watch Nip/Tuck so I don't know much about Jessalyn Gilsig, but I'm willing to give it a try. That said, I agree that we could give some of the other characters more story.

Somebody refresh my memory - wasn't there a hint for a while that Mac would hook up with the female tech with the British accent before Peyton? And was that Sonya Walger (Penny!) or am I totally misremembering her?

:-x I am glad that Mac is getting a galpal..maybe he will lighten up a bit...this is the only CSI I watch, mainly because of Gary Sinise but also because its good...AND its in multi-color..not bright orange ( or whatever ) and morose green...I am just glad that they did not follow the same path of other shows which hook up the male and female leads--which we all know sinks a show faster than the Titanic....perhaps a Mac/Stella combo will come when the series comes to an end? Or will we be left wondering...like did Hawkeye and Hot Lips hook up after the war??? !!! ?<img border=">
