« Ausiello Report
Supernatural Boss Declares, "Jensen's Returning!"
Jensen Ackles in Supernatural by Sergei Bachlakov/The CW
That ominous, season-ending image of Dean chained above Hell's fiery pits inexplicably understandably has Supernatural fans on edge. Here's just a sampling of what was waiting for me in my Ask Ausiello mailbag when I returned from vacation yesterday:
• "Has Jensen Ackles left Supernatural?" Jessica
• "I heard a rumor that Jensen Ackles is leaving Supernatural? Is this true?" Theresa
• "It's official: I'm a nervous wreck after watching the Supernatural finale! I just can’t believe what happened to my dear Dean! He can't be dead. Not Dean!" Silke
• "If Jensen Ackles is leaving Supernatural, the show just lost me as a viewer." Clara
Relax, Clara. And Silke. And Theresa. And Jessica. And all you other Supe Nazis freaking out over Dean's fate. Sam's brother half is here to stay. How do I know this? Well, for starters, he's the star of the freakin' show! Also, series creator Eric Kripke just told me so via this exclusive statement:
"Jensen is 100% returning to the show and is as integral to Supernatural as he has ever been."
There you have it. End of story. You guys feel better now? Any other burning questions you have for Kripke about the finale? Post 'em below and I'll do my best to get them answered in time for next week's AA.
In other news, did you miss me?!?

Well, obviously he's not leaving. C'mon people. Hey Ausiello, the most you can do is give us a little eye candy of Jensen with the post, can't ya? It's a holiday weekend. C'mon.

Hey Thats great news about Jensen returning so that is one piece of mind. But seriously what was up with that spoiler about season 4 that Dean is in Hell a long time and that his relationship with Sam is altered. I know alot of fans freaking out just read the Forums. Can we have some glimmer of hope that we will still have the brothers bond that we love even if it is not straight away and how long is long.

I was never under the impression that he wasn't coming back, but these Winchester boys are rivalling Buffy for record number of times dying and coming back!
My burning question for Eric Kripke - will you go fix Bones? (I kid...sort of).

I really, really, really want to know if Katie Cassidy as Ruby will be back next year in more then just one episode. I may have been in the minority, but I loved her and her charcter.
Also, is there any chance that they revist some of the previous seasons guest stars, like Taylor Cole or Samantha Ferris.

Supe Nazis?? Classic!
Love all of you, my fellow Supernatural peeps, but stop freking out!!! Of COURSE Dean (and Jensen) is coming back!!
And just think, when Sam (and Bobby) get him out of Hell, just THINK of all the GLORIOUS drama and angst these two incredible actors will get to play! We want them to continue to enjoy their jobs and grow in their characters and I think the impending storyline adds such another interesting layer to them both. And just think when that magical episode comes along when Sam and Dean overcome everything and the bond refuses and they are closer than ever!! That is SO worth waiting for (even though the wait is already KILLING me!!!).
Our boys aren't going anywhere. I was at the L.A. Convention where they said they are in till the end (only FIVE season, Kripke, really??).

Kripke - you are an evil genius and we love you! Day-um that finale means a loooooong summer.
Question - now that Sam knows he has the power within him to defeat Lilith, how far into S4 will we go before he uses this power to get Dean out of hell?
Ausiello - A Wednesday without AA for us is like a day without smurfs or raspberry snapple for you. It's that bad!

It's funny that people actually thought Jensen might be leaving the show, but thanks anyway for setting their minds at ease. And thanks for giving Supernatural some attention.
Welcome back from vacation, btw!
If you get a chance to put a bug in Kripke's ear, please tell him that many, many, many fans are itching to see Samantha Ferris (Ellen) return to the show somehow.

This whole "Dean in Hell" thing could jump the shark if not handled correctly. If Dean comes back evil, I'm out.
My questions for Kripke: Is Dean going to come back as a Demon? (an obvious jump the shark move)
How many episodes before Dean breaks out of Hell? (The last scene of the finale is sticking with me in an awful way)
Will Ruby be back (either the actress who played her this season OR the character played by another actress)?
Will Daddy Winchester ever come back (as a ghost or otherwise)?
Thanks

So..this doesn't make me feel better. Of course Jensen's sticking around, but we still have to live through the next five or so months with that final horrible image in our heads.
s_decker - Dean will never be evil. Angry? Yes. Conflicted? Definitely. Traumatised by months of torture? Absolutely. But evil? Nah - Kripke and his writers know their characters too well for that. Plus, I think you'd need to be in hell for a long time in order to become a demon - John was there for nearly a year, and he seems relatively unscathed. Erm, except that he's dead, obviously. And even with Kripke's "long time" comment, I don't see how it could be much beyond a year in the timeline. But hey, I could be wrong.

I always knew Jensen would return, but my question is- what about that fine packaging? How's it going to be restored? Please tell us something, Mr. Evil Genius!

So people really thought Dean was leaving? They didn't by any chance read Kristin's interview with Kripke over at E!Online did they? Because, you know, Kripke wasn't serious about the whole Chad Michael Murray thing...
But thank you Mike for showing Supernatural some love. It's always good to hear about our show.
Could you find out if/when we'll be seeing more of Jeffrey Dean Morgan (his person, not just his voice) and/or Samantha Ferris? And will Ruby be back next season? Kripke says Bella is gone, but never mentioned Ruby.

well duh -- the story is about 2 brothers!! But it was a heck of a finale! All hail Kripke -- evil genius.
Will Dean come back changed? As in with powers - part demon?
I hope you will not bring him back with no memories of his stay in Hell/limbo/his mind or wherever he is. That would be too easy.
Thank you for a summer full of trepidation and anxiety!!
