Exclusive: A Gossip Guy Comes Out! But Which One?

Hey, Uppity Ausholers, Gossip Guy here with a piece of prattle that's going to make your ingrown toenails curl.
I'm hearing from an extremely reliable source that a male character on Gossip Girl will be revealed to be of the gay persuasion when the show returns on April 21. Who? Can't say. Won't say. It's too good a surprise. I will, however, offer five tantalizing clues.
• This person may or may not be pictured above.
• The revelation significantly impacts the lives of at least three people.
• The aftershocks will be felt on both sides of the East River.
• Some viewers will be surprised by the twist, others not so much.
• In the Gossip Girl novels, Dan was known to be a bit of a switch-hitter — which isn't so much a clue as it is a fact. A misleading fact? Perhaps. Perhaps not.

I am fairly certain that it's going to be Eric (Serena's brother). His coming to terms with his sexuality may be one of the many factors that he had his 'breakdown'. Also, Nate is in love with Blair/Serena. I think the writers will play that triangle for a few more seasons. Dan may 'come out' in the future, but I doubt it'll happen in the first season. As for Chuck, there seems to be a 'Cruel intentions' type of storyline happening there with Serena.

It's obviously Chuck. Not only did Chuck come out early on in the book series, but Nate and Dan are too involved in relationship webs for the writers to have them come out. And, really, with Chuck it just works--I always assumed they'd use that aspect of the books in the series, it was just a matter of when. I'm surprised they're going down that road so soon, though.

It's Eric (Sabrina's Bro). Called that in the pilot episode. Bells and whistles all over the place. Besides (SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER) it was teased right before the strike that they were gonna make him Gossip Girl. 'Nuff said.

I too think that it will be Eric. Dan and Serena are the power couple so the show will not mess with that. Chuck and Blair are the hot, so wrong it's right, press garnering couple; the CW wouldn't let the writers screw that up. Nate is a bore but teen girls seem to like him which just leaves Rufus and Eric...meaning Eric.

Its going to be Erik if its going to be anyone. Which I'm kind of bummed about because I wanted to see him with Jenny first. I think they're kind of jumping the gun with this. They should wait until season 2.
Its definitely not going to be any of the main 3 guys because the fan bases for Chuck/Blair (I love them!), Dan/Serena, Nate/Blair, ect. would not be pleased. And frankly, I doubt the CW would be willing to gamble their audience by doing something like that!

Its Erik! Hands down.This is the most unsuprising gossip girl news I heard so far. I'm not suprised, he a guest star on the show anyways. I guess keeping that secret was one of hte reasons he wanted to commit sucide in the first place...Too bad because Jenny/Erik were cute. It would also have kept Jenny away from Nate!
CW and writers would be CRAZY to make Chuck gay. Chuck/Blair have the LARGEST fanbase for the show!! They became hugely popular in such a short time and their chemistry is off the charts! The best couple on the show period.
No way is Nate going to be gay. All the girls just love him. He's one of the most good looking guys on television period. Plus he's been pining over two girls for the whole season so far...
Dan. He's just not gay. Firstly, no way in hell is CW going to make on of the main cast gay. No way is the network going to take that risk right now. Plus Serena/Dan have a pretty big fanbase (definitely not as big as Chuck/Blair though  )
I can't wait for GG to be back on Monday April 21st!

In the novels Chuck was bisexual-ish, but I love him and Blair on the series...So it better not be him.

It's totally Eric. Not even a question about it. I read the first GG book, and the first thought I had about Eric was that he was gay. He was always vague about his plans when talking to Serena, and seemed to overcompensate about all the girls he was hanging out with. Plus, it would solve the whole Eric/Jenny thing. It would be too weird for Eric and Jenny to date, as well as Dan and Serena, and for their parents to be in love as well. And it would make sense considering his depression and suicide attempt.

I agree let it be one of the Dad's. It won't be unusual considering that Blair's dad already came out. Just don't let it be Dan or Nate, the potential romantic entanglements are endless. And as for Chuck, though i don't really care for him, he's been with lots of girls so why is he coming out now? And as for Erik, I don't know who knows that may have been why he tried to commit suicide.

I think it's Eric too.
Honestly I wouldn't care if it was Nate or Dan. It could even, maybe, make them interesting. (These two are so boring!)
But it can't be Chuck. Chuck & Blair are the hottest couple of the show!!!

It's Chuck for sure, he came out in the book and he carries a white monkey around with him everywhere, don't know if they'll have the monkey on the show, but they should.
