Eli Renewed! October Road Axed! Moonlight Dead?

Renewals and cancellations are flying fast and furious on this, the first official day of "upfront" week. Here's the latest:

Eli Stone has been renewed for a second season. (Woo-hoo!)

October Road has been canceled. (Boo-hoo!) Ditto Women's Murder Club.

• CBS is expected to bring The Unit back, and may slot it on Fridays at 9 pm. What does that mean for Moonlight? Good question.

• Also at CBS, How I Met Your Mother is a shoo-in to return for a fourth season, although Old Christine remains a question mark. ABC, however, is almost certain to scoop it up should Les Moonves pass.

More updates to come. Keep checking back. And be sure to bookmark our Fall TV Grid, which clearly displays what is on when, and against what.

Moonlight!! Noooooo! I'm still annoyed WMC isn't coming back, and now Moonlight might be dead? Horror

I still say an Eli Stone/Pushing Daisies night is a feel-good gold mine.

As for Moonlight, if CBS can’t stick with it than they might as well resign themselves to crime dramas for their entire lineup. Moonlight is essentially a stock CBS show with just the tiniest little twist to it. With a no name cast and sets that are already built if they can’t stick with it beyond this strike impaired season than they just need to admit they won’t stick with anything that strays even slightly from their format.

ThomasC22, I was thinking the very same thing about Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies!

I'm really hoping New Christine moves to ABC. I'd watch it on any network, but it seems like such a natural fit for that network. I'm sure Steve McPherson feels the same way!

I know everyone in my family will be happy about Eli getting picked up. I had warned them not to be to optimistic because of the ratings. But I think this is one show that has a chance to build an audience during its second season if it gets a good time slot. We can only hope.

I was just over at the message board announcing Aliens in America's cancellation and was sad. This pretty much makes up for it. Eli Stone is my newest favorite show!

"I still say an Eli Stone/Pushing Daisies night is a feel-good gold mine."

I like that idea! But thank goodness for the DVR - I will follow either show wherever they go!

Eli Stone is one of those shows that just grows on you. I'm really thrilled it will be returning too! My husband (who really doesn't watch much TV outside of Discovery Channel) actually got to the point where he wouldn't let me watch Eli Stone (on Tivo) without him! THAT is how great this show is :)

The Unit doesn't feel like a Friday show, but I guess I'll adjust. I'm just glad to have it back!

Eli Stone is GREAT news! I think the suggestion to pair it with Pushing Daisies is brilliant! I would call that appointment television!

Thanks for the update.
The wait is killing me with Moonlight. When you do hear something concrete either way, please let us know.

YAY for Eli Stone! Besides Pushing Daisies, I thought it was one of the most original shows on TV.

If they don't renew Christine for a FULL season, I will FREAK OUT! These mini-seasons always leave me wanting more!! C'mon CBS!!

MICHAEL: Please find out if you can elaborate on ABC's plans for Christine if they should pick it up... Would it remain a mid-season replacement?

Can you please give an update on when the different upfronts are? Do any networks announce today? It seems NBC is typically first, but they have already done their presentation.
