Exclusive: Ugly Betty Falls for Pretty Eddie

Somewhere Ana Ortiz is thanking God and/or doing cartwheels.

Why?

'Cause the underrated Ugly Betty costar will be getting a new love interest later this season, and he's going to look a lot like Eddie Cibrian. Actually, he is Eddie Cibrian!

Multiple unnamed moles (all of 'em Ugly) confirm to me exclusively that Dimples Cibrian — aka ABC's go-to guest star of late (see also: Dirty Sexy Money, Samantha Who?) — has been cast as Justin's phys-ed teacher slash eventual boyfriend to Ortiz's Hilda. He'll appear in three episodes this season and could return in the fall.

Yay for Ana Ortiz (and it sounds like Mark Indelicato) for gaining a storyline of their own! And I haven't seen this guy in anything before, but he definitely looks like a cutie that Hilda would like!

Mmm, I guess they're changing their plans. I thought Gio was suppose to end up as a love interest for Hilda.

They've already tried the Gio/Hilda thing and it didn't work...apparently Gio has it too bad for Betty to make it work with the sister. This is going to be much better...a man of her own...Go Hilda!!!

YAY! I've loved Eddie since his "Sunset Beach" days, and since "Betty" is my favorite show ... now it'll be even favoriter! Love him, love him, love him.

I loved "Dirty Sexy Money" and Eddie's short bit there; but if that show's over then I'm glad I'll at least get to see him on primetime somewhere.

Well shut me up! Now I see that "Money" will be back; great. WOW - I sure hope we'll get TWO doses of Eddie sometimes, on on Wed and one on Thurs!

I've liked Eddie since he played the dastardly Matt Clark on The Young and the Restless (and I watched him on Sunset Beach too, SpellingAddict) and if he can't be on my TV in Invasion--R.I.P.--then having him turn up in Ugly Betty, hopefully as a good boyfriend, will in part make up for it. [sarcasm] Too bad for Ana Ortiz, having to put up with him as her TV boyfriend. [/sarcasm]
