It's Official: CBS Renews Christine, Unit and HIMYM
Julia-Louis Dreyfus in The New Adventures of Old Christine by Monty Brinton/CBS
This just in: CBS has renewed TV's funniest traditional sitcom, New Adventures of Old Christine, for a 22-episode fourth season.
This is bad news for ABC, which had been aggressively courting Old Christine for months. In fact, I'm told the Alphabet net had a deal in place to pick the show up had CBS passed.
In other Eye developments, How I Met Your Mother (lame ep last night, huh?) and The Unit have both officially been renewed, while Shark and Moonlight (don't shoot the messenger!) have been axed. For more on Moonlight's demise, click here.

Yay! I was going to be happy either way but Im especially happy since it's a full 22 episode season. Funniest traditional sitcmo on the air and one of the funniest all-around.

Hooray for How I Met Your Mother Season 4!
If ABC has a comedy spot to fill because they won't get Christine, then they should renew Miss Guided.

I'm very happy about HIMYM and The Unit but I will miss Shark. I guess 2 out of 3 ain't that bad.

Until I learn Moonlight's fate, I'm useless here at work. All I've been doing is searching for any new news.
CBS just can't cancel Moonlight. If they do, I pray someone else picks it up. I'll follow Moonlight anywhere: new night, new channel, new time slot. I don't care. I just want my Moonlight!

Ever hear the old adage, "IF its not broken, don't fix it!" Perfect saying for Shark.
It was doing well on Thursday nights. Hit the top ten a few times, had decent demos in the 4.5 range. So what do they do? Move it to what is conceivably the worst timeslot on television(during football season at least)
Then they change the whole show around. Sam Page goes away. Nothing against Kevin Alejandro who I really wish were back on Ugly Betty but why did the show need a young shark? The whole point was the young, naive staff learning from the big bad boss. This year there was no young naive staff, they were all Sharks. Even the adversarial relationship between Stark and Jessica was dropped as they became allies against the biggest shark of all, the new DA.
At no point, from the very beginning, was SHark ever as good at crime procedurals as most of the other crime procedurals on CBS. The thing that set it apart to me was the great interplay between the "good guys" and the "bad guys" who were all working for a good cause. That was just totally lost this year and while, honestly I have to admit, in the Sunday timeslot the show had precious little chance anyway, I don't think the change in the way the stories were written helped at all.
Oh well, that just leaves room on my TIVO for one more new show next year. So any recommendations?

Ugh! I seriously feel nauseous. If they don't renew Moonlight, I'm going to cry my eyes out. Please CBS, don't do this to the millions of ML fans!!!!

Both Variety AND HollywoodReporter are reporting that CBS canceled Moonlight. Sorry, guys.

HIMYM should be cancelled. Unfunny crap now.
CHristine is the best sitcom on TV.
SHark was a waste of space. Woods didn't get an Emmy nomination so what was the point?

Why are they torturing us about Moonlight? Can't they put us out of our misery one way or another?

Although it hasn't really been considered "on the bubble" since the first Britney episode, I'm so relieved to hear that HIMYM is renewed.
Last night really was off-kilter in every way - but all the rest of the post-strike episodes have been perfect. Hopefully Season 4 will be, too.
