Blind Item: Bubble Show About to Burst?
If this blind item gives you a nagging sense of déjà vu, there's good reason: It's nearly identical to one I posted last year at this time concerning a beloved comedy that was on the verge of getting the ax because it lacked a key supporter at the network that aired it.
Cut to March 2008 and a similar situation is playing out with another wildly popular series, only this time the dispassionate network bigwig has a different name and the bubble show in question is a one-hour drama. According to my spies, said suit's beef with the series (which may or may not be on the same network as that other series) is twofold: He/she thinks it's creatively overrated and, more importantly, it's underperforming in the ratings (particularly given its budget).
And as bad luck would have it, this is the very person the program's top exec had to sit down with last week to pitch next season's potential hot plots to! One can only imagine the number of (Crickets) present at that meeting.
The good news? Not everyone at the network is hating on the endangered series. Plus, the plug hasn't been pulled yet! Got guesses? Post 'em below! And then check out this week's Ask Ausiello for a major clue (maybe)!

I'm thinking "Prison Break".
That show can't be cheap to produce, it's 'wildy popular' and we know Kevin Reilly is new at FOX.
We also know that the ratings this season were relatively low.
It can't be FNL since we know that it's been (almost) renewed.

Oh c***, I completely missed that 3rd paragraph! It's TERMINATOR! Thomas Dekker told Kristin from E! that the producers were currently pitching ideas for the second season... That was on Friday...

Well, FNL was renewed last week. So it can't be that show. I'm not so sure Moonlight is a 'widely popular series'.
Also, Ausiello's reference that it may or may not be on the same network as HIMYM, Cbs...indicates it's probably a CBS show.
So, it's down to either Shark or Jericho. Shark is over-budgeted with it's star power and Jericho with all the special effects, location, etc.
Final answer? Jericho.

NCIS? My guess is it's a CBS show, because wasn't last years show HIMYM? And the way MA put it(which may or may not be on the same network....) makes me think it is. I may be wrong, but I haven't heard if it's been picked up or not......
