Exclusive: Scarecrow Joins Heroes! Mrs. King Next?

I've got more exclusive Heroes casting news for you guys to dissect during this, the longest hiatus in TV history!

Bruce Boxleitner, who played Scarecrow to Sabrina Duncan's Mrs. King in the mid-80s, has snagged a top-secret recurring role that was originally going to be modeled after Sen. John McCain. The character has since been reconceived, and now all I know for sure is that he'll be sharing scenes with a female series regular.

By the way, although it may seem like Heroes is getting ready to force-feed us another batch of newbies, an NBC insider insists that's definitely not the case. Yes, the show is introducing some new faces next season, but the primary focus, my source maintains, will remain "on the core characters from the pilot."

I think I speak for Heroes fans everywhere when I say, Hallelufreakinlujah.

You know it does sound like Heroes is getting ready to force-feed us another batch of newbies.

Let's hope they all are WAY minor characters and the show really does put the focus back on the core characters from season 1. And that means dumping the rest of the lousy additions from season 2 (or at least making them EXTREMELY minimal).

Does syndicated sci-fi not count as TV anymore? Cuz I seriously remember Bruce in Babylon 5. :P

I think Michael got it wrong, Kate Jackson was Mrs King

Sabrina Duncan was her name on Charlie's Angels. I think that was intentional.

This hiatus is ridiculous. I can't remember anything from this season, but that Kristen Bell was in and had electricity powers. I remember a little more, but not much. Are they going to replay it before it starts up again?

I've miss Boxleitner since his Sherdan days on B5. I'm so excited, I am definitely going to follow S3 Heroes!

Thanks for the Heroes Scoop! And Yes, Ausiello, I love ya, but I heard that scoop too (about the "Core" group) when Tim Kring said it at the Premiere of Iron Man. :) (Exact quote)

:-D I think it is great that Bruce is getting some new work. I predict he will be some sort of spook working for the Agency. Perhaps Kate Jackson can play his wife or some evil henchman of some kind.
You know who I really, really, really want to see back? Christopher Eccelston as Claude. He was super cool as Doctor Who but seriously underutilized on Heroes.

Well here is hoping..... Season two,, BLAH!

I want to know if Claude will ever be back on Heroes.

I think that Claude's return is largely dependent on Christopher Eccleston's availability. I believe that Heroes would be ecclestatic to get him back!

lol i think its funny that they would choose to reference Bruce Boxleitner for a show in the 80s rather than Babylon 5. Congrats to him and I'll definately be watching Heroes next season to see him.

I like Bruce so that is good as long as the show does focus on the regulars and not bring in a bunch of new characters. The longest hiatus in TV history? That would be the just over a year long break between seasons three and four of Battlestar Galactica.

Great news. It would be great to see the Scarecrow back in action! :^O

As for the hiatus... just be glad it's back :)
