Smallville fans, consider this bullet officially dodged: Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that after weeks of tense negotiations, Allison Mack has sealed a deal to return next season as a series regular!

[The crowd roars]

Although the specifics of the new contract -- which was signed just hours ago -- are being kept under wraps, I'm told it calls for Mack to appear in all episodes produced next season. As I reported earlier this week, the actress' reps were (wisely) using the imminent departure of Smallville vet Michael Rosenbaum as leverage in the negotiations. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the strategy paid off.

Well at least there's ONE reason to tune in again! Now, what about Laura Vandervoort? Her name was also conspicuosly left off the press release...

this is GREAT news. well done CW. season 8 would've been a complete flop had the show lost allison along with the others.

Thank goodness! The show would be pretty much gutted if even Chloe abandoned ship. She's my favorite character, I love her viewpoint.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness for some good news at last. Now if only they will bring back the real, go-getter, Chloe and get her back at the Daily Planet working on stories again. This better be a sign they've wised up. hopes

EXCELLENT! I hope part of that contracts includes treating Chloe with RESPECT. Keeping her as the ACE reporter at the DP & not just as some hero hag (ugh how i hate that they refer to her like that). I'll be watching for now, ONLY because ALLISON is BACK. But if I see no respect for Allison or Chloe? I'm out.

The Best News I have heard! With Michael leaving and rumors of Allison's departure I was about to give up on SV. I'm glad to hear that AM is staying full time and I hope the CW/TPTB allow to bring Chloe to the forefront in the final season. Put her back in the DP where she belongs!

That is fantastic news. So glad to hear Allison Mack will be returning. I wouldn't have tuned into Smallville for its eighth season if she hadn't signed on.

WOOT WOOT! Allison is the only reason to continue watching this show. I hope they don't have Pod!Chloe and TPTB show the character and actress the respect that she so rightfully deserves.

YES! YES! YES! I will now watch season 8 of smallville. Wouldn't have done so without the beautiful Chloe Sullivan, but now she is back! YAY! THANKS, Ausiello for posting the good news. It means A LOT to so many fans.
