« Ausiello Report
AR Ep 36: Spike Joining Buffy 2? Plus: Supernatural Dish!
We were a little late getting it up (damn writers strike!), but this week's Ausiello Report vodcast is now playing on a TVGuide.com video player near you, or simply via this link. Highlights from this week's show include:
• Scoop on whether Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku will be populating their Dollhouse with other Buffy alums (read: James Marsters?).
• The final answer on rumors that a certain horror icon will be making a killing on Supernatural.
• More clues about which Wisteria Lane denizen is heading for rehab.
All that plus cameo "appearances" by Lauren Graham and Keri Russell! What more could you ask for?! No, seriously, what more could you ask for? Watch the thing and let me know in the comments section below.

Yikes -- the pressure of being first...
Uhhh, great epi -- love the cameos.
Here's the rundown, fellow Ash-holes:
Though Joss says he'd likely work with a new cast, Eliza says it's always a possiblility that the Buffy/Angel crew could show up. Michael "hints" that James Marsters would be a good candidate.
Supernatural will not feature Jason Vorhees in a cameo during this sweeps period -- the idea was ultimately killed.
The Wisteria Laner heading for rehab will be for drugs/drinking and will be a male who's been on the show since the beginning.
Cameo of Lauren and Keri were on doll heads in Michael's creepy dollhouse fantasy -- seriously, dude. Weird, even for you

Thanks iluvonj from saving me from my usual summary duties for the hearing and technology-impaired. One part you didn't mention, on Dirty Sexy Money, Simon Elder (Blair Underwood) will turn out to have a secret: a cheating wife (or ex-wife, MA wasn't clear on that), who will show up in early 2008.
As far as the Desperate Housewives guy headed to rehab, my money's on Andrew (Bree's son).

I hate it when he puts wishful thinking as a headline. I totally thought they had already gotten Spike onboard for dollhouse, but i guess I'll just have to hope too.

Michael is in denial. I've decided to freak out about the writer's strike and he's making casting wishes.
We won't see Dollhouse until 2009.

Please don't ever call it "Buffy 2" again.
"Studio 60" wasn't "West Wing 2" just because Aaron Sorkin created it and Bradley Whitford starred in it.
If "Dollhouse" is going to last on Fox, it's going to need to get more viewers than "Buffy" ever had. Calling it "Buffy 2" right from the start is just going to limit it's potential audience.

iluvonj--we're Aus-holes. Ash-holes would be fans of Bruce Campbell's Evil Dead character.

Seeing the words "Spike" "Buffy" and "Supernatural" in the same title about gave me a heart attack, just so you know, Michael.

No, no. Not "damn writer's strike", "damn money grubbing studios forcing writers to strike!"
I created an account to post this.

There is like a 20 year age difference between Eliza and James. I'd rather see someone closer to Eliza's age in the lead male role. (just my opinion)
If Joss is going to cast one of his previous actors, it will probably be someone from Firefly. . .
I'm thinking more along the lines of Sean Maher. But it will probably be someone new to the Jossverese.

Thanks everyone for recapping so I would not have to watch the video.
And Mike, please do not use Buffy2 or give a false tease about James Marsters. We have the networks to lead us down the wrong path in their next week's episodes promos.

James Marsters is one of the more busy actors who were part of BTVS/Angel world. He has guest roles on several networks, has a new CD out, concerts, and recording his fifth Dresden Files book. He is one busy guy. They would be lucky to have him as a guest star.
