AR Ep 32: An Everwood Alum Drops By! Plus: Grey's Dish

OK, I know you're probably sick of me touting another episode of my Ausiello Report vodcast as "the best one ever," but this time it's really true. Seriously!

Not only is it jam-packed with exclusive scoop — including news of a pivotal Grey's Anatomy character's return and a Nip/Tuck plot that's so gross I just had to reenact it — but it also features a live, in-studio visit from one of my all-time favorite Everwood peeps, the sorely missed Gregory Smith!

Told ya: Best. Vodcast. Ever.

Click here to watch, and then use that nifty white box below to tell me if it lived up to all the hype.

Summary of scoop (may be wrong/incomplete):

On Nip/Tuck's 5th episode, the doctors will perform surgery on a victim of cannibalism. A bride and groom were stranded on a boat (I think) during their honeymoon and the bride was forced to eat some of the groom. (Followed by a really gross shot of MA with bloody fake body parts and fake blood on his mouth.)

MA interviewed Gregory Smith, who used to be on Everwood (I never watched the show, so I don't know who he played). He was sad the show was canceled, but liked the final episode. He's now in a new movie, The Seeker (apparently not a remake of the old John Wayne movie), in which he plays the older brother of a boy caught in a battle between good and evil in a medieval-looking world.

Meredith's father, Thacher, will reappear on Grey's Anatomy in a November episode.

The top 4 suggestions for the name of the janitor on Scrubs:

Jan Itor (the winner of MA's contest)
Gus Todian
JD
The actor's real name (which I forget)

Um... Jan Itor was used on the show. It was his Doctor name in one episode Dr. Jan (pronounced like Yan) Itor.

Hey Michael, ever since your first producer left, you have been hiding in the shadows - literally. The lighting in your AR videos is all off. Tell someone to put the spotlight on you.

Oh my gosh - that was the best. vodcast. ever.... a 7 minute Gregory Smith interview. Swoon.

Thanks for taking care of us Everwood fans, Ausiello!

My boyfriend wants an apology from you though, as he now has to go watch the Seeker movie this weekend.

Re: Can't view vodcast

If you are using Firefox as your browser, download the IE Tab addon. That's what I had to do.

Oh, it was almost brilliant! It's great to see Gregory Smith, and reminiscing about 'Everwood' is always a good way to spend time. I just wish it didn't have anything to do with that Film That Must Not Be Named (well, and HAD its name changed a few times)...I hate realising he's part of the destruction of my favourite-ever books! It'll be forgiveable if we can all just pretend it never happened....

You know David Milch has a new show he is about to start shooting for HBO. Smith would be perfect for a Milch series. Plus cable shows are better for working actors since they only shoot 13 episodes.

Loved your interview with Gregory Smith! He is such a nice guy and great actor! I just saw The Seeker and I really liked it--and I don't usually go for that type of movie! I am looking forward to seeing Closing the Ring! Thanks also for your part in getting Emily the job on Bros. & Sisters! Keep up the good work, Aus!
