24 Exclusive: Look Who's Returning!

Just got off the phone with my 24 mole and he/she informs me that Eric Balfour has signed on to reprise his Season 1 role as independent CTU contractor Milo Pressman. My spy wouldn't say how Milo would be re-introduced, but he'll be sticking around for a while: Balfour will be credited as a series regular. (If you need a refresher on who Milo is, click here.)

In other 24 news, former Star Trek: Deep Space Nine doc Alexander Siddig is joining the cast as one of the evildoers behind the big Season 6 plot. Additionally, Carlo Rota (aka Mr. Chloe O'Brian) will be back as a series regular.

And now, in completely unrelated news, a rep for CBS' new Thursday-night drama Shark confirms that James Woods has had a death in the family and production has been temporarily halted.

That's all the scoop that's fit to print. For now.

Granted Siddig was born in Sudan, but he was raised in England and is a little too "white" to be in an Arab role. He got more of his mother's genes than his dad's I think. I wish they weren't making him a bad guy. I always had a crush on him on DSN.

Oh my God!!!
Milo's back! That's great news!!!
I think this solves the problem of not having Tony Almeida. I was so mad when they killed him.

People are excited to see ERIC BALFOUR back? Am I missing something? Is there some sort of secret Eric Balfour society out there?

Eric Balfour???????????

As for Siddig...I am a HUGE HUGE Deep Space Nine fan so nice to see Doctor Bashir back on TV, even if it's as a bad guy. I am guessing his memorable role in "Syriana" brought him back to the public eye---good for him.

1 more thing...you accept Eric Balfour as a suitable replacement for Carlos Bernard, aka 'Tony Almeida'?

Ok, now I am REALLY REALLY confused.

Does anyone know when the 5th Season of 24 is coming out on DVD?

Balfour is a series jinx. Good thing 24 already has been renewed for multiple seasons. I think the S5 dvd would be in Dec before S6 starts in January.

I'm a fan of Siddig's too FelineFan55 but he's played many Arab parts-Kingsom Of Heaven, Syriana, The Hamburg Cell, Vertical Limit, and on MI-5. He also played King Feisal in A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia. Plus it's, to quote The Master Thespian, "acting"!

Milo? What a random character to bring back. He must have been away at mole school.

Matt,

My assumption at this point about why people keep hiring the thoroughly unlikeable Eric Balfour is that he has a folder of naked pitchers with every studio exec. and producer in Hollywood. It's the only reasonable explanation.

I have never seen one actor who continually cannot act or emote and is downright unwatchable, keep getting parts on shows, either new or being added back to hit shows like "24". It's beyond baffling.

Someone get Robert Stack...we have an "Unsolved Mystery". The mystery that is how Eric Balfour keeps getting hired.

I remember my first TV Encounter with Eric Balfour. It was the Buffy Pilot. He was Jesse, the other best friend of Willow and Xander. Turned into a vampire, dusted by Xander, and never spoken of again.

I wish they would bring Adam back instead of Milo.

Also, I hope Chief O'Brien is Dr. Bashir's head henchman.

I liked Milo's character, it's good to have someone from season one back on the show.
