Shark Gets Some Marshall Law
James Woods by Monty Brinton/CBS, Inset: Paula Marshall by Stephen Shugerman/Getty Images
On tonight's Shark (9 pm/ET,CBS), newly disbarred L.A. prosecutor Sebastian Stark bets on finding solace in Las Vegas. However, since Stark can still practice law in Nevada, while there he agrees to defend a former client from murder charges. Feeling guilty and helping out is Paula Marshall as the ex-attorney general's office staffer who inadvertently caused Sebastian to lose his California license.
With Jeri Ryan on maternity leave, executive producer Ian Biederman says Marshall's Jordan is "much more an equal" than Ryan's Jessica, "although not as comfortable in his world." But then, Sebastian doesn't seem too comfortable right now, either. "This is him going back to defending bad guys," explains Biederman. "He realizes he can't do it anymore."
As far as the show's future is concerned, Biederman is "cautiously optimistic" that the recent switch from Sundays to Tuesdays will improve its chances. "We feel like we've earned another shot," he says. James Woods' cocky counselor would concur. — G J Donnelly

I like Shark, and I hope the network doesn't make the mistake of canceling another good show, forcing viewers back to cable.

Uh, Ian should have given the chance to the supporting cast the shine, not add someone new. Not really impressed with Jordan, hope she's out soon.
Fingers crossed for the show's renewal.

Like Jordan in the role - welcome addition - and think she and Woods perfectly balance each other.
Love Shark and hope it DOES return in the fall. If not, CBS is making a big mistake!!

I Love Shark, and do hope that it will will be renewed. I'm not impressed by Jordan, and don't want to see her around much. I agree with the previous poster who says that they should give the great supporting cast a chance to shine, I like all of them and certainly wouldn't mind seeing more of them.

I'm really not much of a James Woods fan, but I liked the pilot when I saw it. Still I opted not to tune in because I already watch way too many shows. Since most of mine are on hiatus right now, and I'm a fan of Marshall from Cupid, I'll stick around after NCIS (Which I NEVER miss).
Also being a 20 year old guy who casually likes "Star Trek" (but owns no DVD seasons, posters, or toys of it), I'm glad that Jeri Ryan was able to escape typecasting one again. From the YouTube clips I've seen it's her best part since "Boston Public".

First off, best wishes to Jeri Ryan, & looking forward to seeing her back next season. I think that Paula Marshall's Jordan is proving to be more than a match for Stark. There's gonna be some fun friction between those two. She's gonna prove the old thing about two to play that game, even though they're working together. Now that's gonna be bring on some fireworks. Hope ya got plenty of roman candles and firecrackers

I LOVE this series. Please tell the producers to keep it coming. James Wood is a phenomenal actor and TV is better with him on it.

i always watch shark. dismayed to hear it might be canceled. shop it to cable and let them run with it. advertizing of the show might be a lot better. do these # crunchers take copying or tivo in to watcher #s? if there are three shows i want to watch, i watch 1 and copy 2 to vcrs and watch at my convenience not the programmers.

I love Paula Marshall, and am a fan of Shark, but I am afraid that with Shark being on the bubble, we'll have to add another notch to her list of failed shows.

Absolutely LOVE "Shark"!!! Am a huge James Woods fan!!! I watch it because of him. First season was better than the second, IMO, because he had more air time in each episode. During the second season, Jeri Ryan's character did a lot of the trial work, and I didn't care for that. I want to see "Shark" in the courtroom. That being said, I absolutely want this show back for more!!!

If the 'alleged' major TV networks, are trying to make the viewers feel insignificant...Its Working!! We have watched 'Shark' since day one, and just for the networks notice, we found Sunday nite, just right. Our teenagers, were in bed, our week was scheduled, and we woumd down our weekend with 'Shark'. As for the move to Tuesday, again, Praise God for Tivo. We will watch, but with the busy daily lives, of 'Us in the Working Class world', our electronic recording devices, save the day...but don't seem to count in the Nielsen ratings. As for 'Shark', He will be great, no matter what enviroment, what state, He does His thing in. Our Tivo is ready!!

I am also a big Shark fan and will make every effort to watch it on whatever night it ends up. However, as I am also a HUGE Jericho fan, it would not surprise me to see CBS cancel this show just as it did Jericho! Not a big Marshall fan, from what little I've seen, but, despite the fact that it would have been nice to give the existing cast members a shot at this opportunity, the fresh face and attitude add some zest. I also think the DA is a weasel and someone needs to assassinate him, so Jeri Ryan can get back to being the DA! IMHO!!!!

I'd rather have Jess around than Jordan, no offence to Paual Marshall but in my mind she's a spare part. Please, CBS, do not cancel Shark.
