Episode Recap: I'm Ruthless ... and Have a Smile on My Face
What do you have to do to get these people to use the idol?! They find it, they hide it, they whisper about it, caress it lovingly, some even make replicas, but they never use it. Listen up Survivors, it doesn’t need to mature. Just use it!
You would think that after Ozzy’s blindside, Jason, holder of the new idol, would pay more attention and risk playing the idol for no reason rather than sitting on it and going home. He didn’t and I have to remind myself that this is the guy who thought a poorly whittled stick was his Holy Grail. He’s the guy who bowed out of an immunity challenge because everybody said they wouldn’t vote him out. And now he’s the guy who is jury member no. three.
Jason left behind a “Black Widow Brigade” of women who are plotting to pick off the males of their species one by one. Eventually, the women will have to turn on themselves and I hope Parvati brought her venom-proof bikini because Natalie’s fangs are showing and I have a feeling she’ll be aiming for the top dog first.
Here we are 11 weeks into the show, it’s the Survivor Auction and Natalie’s first words are, “Do not hog the cake. I haven’t eaten. I’m feeling a little aggro.” This after her initial over-inflated bid won her some bat soup. I love that James, was like, “I’ll have it,” and then proceeded to explain to Jeff the proper way to eat bat. I wonder if it tastes like chicken?
But seriously, why so angry Natalie? She went off on Jason in her confessional and then described herself using some colorful language. It was a bit out there.
I can see James being peeved. The guy has finally wised up to Parvati who flat-out told him she’s looking at an all-girl final three. So where does that leave our muscular friend? He’s in the same spot as Amanda who is rather obviously out in left field. If Natalie’s cake sharing buddy choices are an indication of the new pecking order then Parv, Cirie, Alexis and Nat are the new alliance to beat. Tell me this: how does Cirie manage to always be the odd woman out in her alliance? As giggly as these ladies are right now there is no doubt in my mind that she’s at the bottom of the pecking order, yet I’m sure she’ll find a way to protect herself. Amanda I’m less sure of.
As for the men, Erik won immunity on his 22nd birthday in a close race against James. The women kindly chose not to send him home on his birthday, but come midnight Erik must realize that the target will be on his back. I hope he’s ready.
Even though Jason was voted out I must give him credit for his noteworthy moments on the show. He found the hidden immunity idol twice and, yes the first was a fake, but still he found it’s hiding space and not everyone can say that. Jason also beat Ozzy in an immunity challenge. Jason’s Achilles heel was that he wanted to belong. He might have stayed longer if he had stopped trying to work with people and just focused on winning immunity.
One thing doesn’t add up for me though, regarding Jason is why did everyone want him gone? We’ve heard that he’s annoying, but we haven’t seen it. I feel like I’ve become engrossed in a movie mid-way and have spent the last hour trying to figure out what I’ve missed. Anyone have any guesses?
Despite Jason’s not using his idol one of the most bittersweet moments of the night was seeing James watch the ladies rifle through Jason’s pack and uncover the idol. You just know he was thinking about Survivor: China and seeing Jamie and Erik searching through his own idol-laden bag. Oh the irony. Then again, that’s the game.
I’ll leave you with some of my favorite lines and surprise, surprise, most of them came from James.
-James to Parvati after realizing she had betrayed him, “Sorry’s not what you mean. ‘Ha Ha Ha’s’ what you mean!” -James to Parvati “I said you were selfish, not stupid.” -James to Jeff while preparing to eat the bat, “You take the skin off first. That’s the secret.” -Jeff to Jason about the idol as he leaves for Exile Island, “This time maybe you’ll get a real one.” -James describing Parvati at Tribal council, “The social butterflies have done their work.” -Jeff to the tribe, “after back to back blindsides anyone who still feels safe is a fool.”
Oh and did you notice Ozzy mouth the B-word to Parvati at tribal council? Ouch!

Oh yeah the Ozz called Parvati bitch
Let me tell you, I don't think I've been embarrased to be a woman like this before!
These biatches give us all a bad name. My nerves can't handle watching them talk about women in such a manipulative way! They think they are being "smart" but they are a bunch of dimwits if I ever saw any.
I love James. I wish he would come back every season :P
I want to say Amanda, Eric and James missed an opportunity to form an allience with Jason and blindside the biatches by voting for Parvati but Jason might be the stupidest person that ever played this game so they might have had a hard time making him believe that he didn't have an alliance with miss bothced eyebrows.

No need for hints as Probst told them the idol was back out there and we know it will be out there next week since good ole Jason copied his favorite Idol and failed to use it and took the walk. That was a bone-headed move. James is still the king of bone-headed idol failures because he had two. I bet it gets used now and the whole blind-siding thing is history. I guess I can't fault Jason so much since all them chicks can be quite charming and believable. Also, babes in bikinis equals boys without brains. Still, he had to know it was women versus men and he is walking the mile anyway, eventually. No reason to volunteer dude.
I loved James reaction to the finger-licking for chocolate. "There is something wrong with that boy." Oh, and those bats must be some good eating. I thought Probst was going to hurl. That would have been some good television. I kinda laughed at Ozzy mouthing a bad word about Parvoti. I mean the guy already knew who it was that turned on him and he is still being childish about it. Grow up wonderboy, you got beat. I noticed James was sending Ozzy a message in outing Parvoti. Parvoti was sure mad about it too.
Natalie is a piece of work. She thinks she is in control of things and she seems vicious in her comments. If I took that chick home from a bar I might consider wearing full body armor while sleeping. That Hannibal Lecter chewing thing is really scary. I hope she shows another side so I don't have nightmares of an Eileen Warnos/Lorenna Bobbett blend running lose in the world.
James and Erik basically only have one chance. One finds the hidden immunity idol and the other wins the immunity challenge. If they do then Parvoti is gone and Amanda can get back with James and brings in Erik just to even the numbers. Then they have to get Cirie the next week. I think it is possible because the two guys can, and will, win challenges. Amanda wants to jump ship on the women's alliance. Cirie might be the only one seeing it coming dump the fan girls.
My guess on the complaints about Jason being annoying is that he must be trying to be an exact copy of Ozzy. It is just as likely, maybe more likely, that the needy child side of him was getting on nerves. Clinginess is really annoying. Plus, if Ozzy was such a threat to win then Jason had to be seen as just as big a threat after beating Ozzy heads-up, so to speak.

There was a moment where Amanda, James, and Erik could have at least gotten together and voted all for Parvati. If Jason had used the idol (which he should have, what an idiot), then all the votes against him would have been nulled. Then the next highest person with votes could have been parvati with three, and James only two from the other girls. Could have been a great moment, instead James and Erik just seem defeated, and unable to formulate basic strategy. James is the classic keep his mouth shut do the work, and not talking type of guy. Erik just seems like a naive isolated youth. Amanda just seems like a lost puppy without Ozzy there, feels like she's given up. And Jason just wanted to belong, and trust someone, and was blindsided.
From here on out: Doesn't look like Amanda, James, or Erik are going to put up much of a fight. If the girls play it smart, they'll send one of their own to Exile Island next to retrieve the hidden immunity Idol.
So if Amanda, James or Erik wins individual immunit, the others will be picked off one by one by the unholy bitchy alliance of four. Then, the final four will fight to get their individual immunity. First one out will be Cerie, then probably the other girl, Parvati, and Natalie will be in the final three. Parvati will probably win the million dollars and be the Survivor to win this. There you go, I just predicted the end of this year's survivor.

You have GOT to be kidding me. How stupid are Amanda, James, and Erik. It was no secret that "the girls" were going to vote for Jason. They had the conversation in front of everyone else. Why didn't Amanda, James, and Erik get together, tell Jason what was going on, and get rid of Cirie or Natalie??? The only way one of the guys is going to last is to win immunity EVERY time!! I think that was even dumber than Ozzy and Jason not using immunity. At least they did that because they (wrongly) trusted someone, rather than knowing your end is coming up in the pecking order and doing nothing about it!

I agree with what everyone said. Jason, Eric, James, and Amanda are stupid. Why the hell didn't they use the hidden immunity idol to get rid of Parvati or Natalie? When James and Amanda were talking I was waiting and waiting for one of them to say "Hey, why don't we tell Jason to use the idol so we can get rid of Parvati?" I mean, it almost seemed like James was hinting at it by telling Amanda to vote for Parvati, but neither one said the obvious.
Maybe Amanda doesn't want to betray her girls alliance, which would make her quite possibly the stupidest out of the four. I mean, does Amanda really think these girls who didn't even tell her about the plan to get rid of Ozzy are going to let her get to the final three?
The worst part was when she was laughing at Jason at tribal counsel. You're fourth on the chopping block you dumb bitch! Why the hell are you laughing?
And then she gives James a love tap as if she somehow did him a favor by making him number two on the chopping block rather than number one.
Why is Amanda even considered a favorite? She doesn't seem particularly good at challenges, she's stupid, and she doesn't seem to have much of a personality. I guess she got chosen to be a favorite because she has a nice rack.

Open letter to Natalie: Take the broom stick out of there. What did some guy ever do to you to make you a lunatic biotch man hater. You're personally setting back feminism and equality with every breath. Take your tig ole fake bitties, your forehead botox injections, and your 80's sweatshirt wearing self and lighten the hell up!
Jason really is the DUMBEST person ever to play this game. Hope you enjoyed your little girl's bull session, talking about guy making the first move. How was this guy even smart enough to fill out an appliation to be on Survivor, let alone find the airport, and remember to pack clothes.

I absoutly love James. Everything that came out of his mouth cracked me up. The speech to Parv about Eve and not eating the apple had me crying. And then the Proper instructions on how to eat a bat to Jeff....priceless. In the words of James ". "There is something wrong with that boy."
But anyway, I agree that James, Amanda were really stupid by not telling Jason and Erik the girls plan of blindsiding Jason. I was hoping at the last minute that James and Amanda did tell Jason and Erik the plan and to blind side Parv. Hopefully they will do that next week.
I totally didn't catch Ozzy mouth B. to Parv. So I went back to watch it. And Im glad I did. He also flipped everyone off when he and Eliza entered for tribal.
By the way I want James to win, and Im not liking Natalie. Man another Natalie that Im not liking on a reality show.

Natalie is vile. No wonder they didn't show her much for the first half of the season. I would have been perfectly happy if they'd never shown her at all. More James please!

Natalie looks like something from Tales from the Crypt. I said the same thing to my husband - those bitches are ruining women all over the world!! I thought Cirie was the most despicable of the bunch - now I'll have to hand t to that ugly-scary looking Natalie. Hope you burn in hell!!

You know what I think is a riot? That every week from here on in, Ozzy has to sit on that jury knowing he will not be winning a million bucks. He can makes all the gestures, say all the nasty words, and whatever else gets him through the day, knowing all the while he got screwed over, blindsided, and outwitted! Ain't life grand?

I was really hoping that James, Amanda, Erik and Jason would have had a discussion and gotten rid of Parvati and they didn't show us but it didn't happen. How stupid are all these people? I thought James would at least let Jason know that the others knew he had the idol and to be careful.
Thanks, Lizziebelle! I thought I saw Ozzy flipping them off but it happened so fast and it was late so I didn't take time to rewind the DVR.
James and Erik need to get Amanda and possibly Cirie on their side to get rid of Natalie and Parvati in that order.

Natalie more than made up for her prior lack of screen time, and most of it was totally annoying. I can't stand her. I also hate these men vs women alliances. It's so stupid. Take the best players and work together, don't base it on something as stupid as genetalia. Jason was stupid, plain and simple. I think they wanted him gone because he showed he could beat Ozzy and he must come across as a doofus. At least with Erik it's kinda cute to them. I loved the preview of Erik, "That's Jeff Probst! He's just standing right there!" Hilarious!

i was hoping the four would turn on parvati...but i think their annoyance at jason overall was stronger than getting her voted out...too bad...that may have changed the total outcome of the game...
