Season Finale Time

This is my annual "get ready for tonight's season finale" post. The episode's called "No Rest for the Wicked." This is what we've been waiting for all season. What's going to happen to Dean? And how will Sam deal with it all? Unfortunately it's episode 16 and not 22, but whatever. The time is finally here. Season 3 is about to come to an end. And as Eric Kripke said, we're going to be left with a cruel, cruel cliffhanger. Can't wait to see just how cruel. Here's a little somethin' somethin' on the episode courtesy of tvguide.com. It's not really that spoilery.

Happy Supernatural Thursday!

Hopefully you guys will be back here tomorrow morning for tons of analysis.

Tonight promises to be one heck of a ride, that's for sure!

I didn't check the SN board for the entry before Tina's fresh "get ready" blog, but thought I'd put this out there:

Since the CW is fast turning into Skank TV, do you think it's wise for the Kripke & Co. to plan S4 as the final season? My reasoning is thus: the CW has slashed the budget, not done much by way of promotion and seems to be pushing out or aside any show not associated with teen sluttiness. THUS it would stand to reason that an S5 might be out of reach and thus, at least planning an S4 as THE END makes sense.

Also - it would tighten up the story, give us fewer stand alones and really crank up the angst and the action.

Well, SnOBs ... what do you think?

I have not been so anxious for a TV cliffhanger in years.

I cannot wait for tonight! I have this feeling that the scene we saw last week in the previews of Sam holding a bloody Dean will be one of the last scenes tonight. The very last scene will be Dean looking around and seeing hell. Is it wrong that I think it will look a little like hell did in Buffy "End of Days"???

Anyway, carry on our wayward sons!!!! Can't wait to watch

You guys are pretty easy to please. I felt a bit jipped. There were so many interesting things they could have done for the cliffhanger, like making Lilith's motive to get him on the dark side rather than to kill him, and having Sam agree to lead the war for the dark side in exchange for Dean's soul and having you wonder all summer whether he did it just to save Dean or whether he is part evil, or have him assure Dean it's just to save him and he'll get out of it and having next season play out with him liking his new position a little too much. It also would have tied in perfectly with Mom Winchester's storyline and the YED/baby Sam connection. What is his greater purpose for the dark side? The YED is dead but Sam's powers were already set in motion, and Lilith wouldn't have set the deal w/Dean if she just wanted Sam dead-he was already dead.
And they should have had him fight the little girl, not Ruby. Way creepier. They underused her, and I would have preferred the continuity of using the same girl. And too bad they had to show hell on a budget, but what can you do.
I hope they dig a little deeper next season. We knew Dean was going to hell-Kripke told us that a few weeks ago. You know he'll get out b/c there's no show without him. So not such a big cliffhanger, but excellent performances by these two.
