Quarterlife: The Bravo Marathon Recap

Well, the Bravo marathon allowed us to see the content of the webisode that will drop tonight online a few hours early, and demonstrated that the Bravo bugs and banners are even more annoyingly distracting than the NBC or even Fox onscreen ads. While the season, one gathers (at least on the linear video side), ends with an apparently successful attempt by the landlord of most of the characters to get court permission to shut down their apartment house, we are reassured that the web series will continue (though if it will take a seasonal break is unclear to me). Dylan notes that perhaps they are all now adults, something of a breakthrough for her in the series, and the emotional strains on the various friendships seem to be at least mostly on the way to healing...and Debra makes her reappearance at the end of "Home Sweet Home," the final installment of the Bravo group...something that has a little more impact, probably, for those who've missed her in webisodes for weeks rather than for hours as the series has been cablecast.

A leisurely, often charming series that probably would've done better on broadcast had it had any promotion to speak of, other than its run on the web itself. I still can foresee the CW or MNT considering picking it up, but not without some grumbling from affiliates.

As a fan of the show it sucks they didn't make a big deal about the marathon and i missed it. I was going to tivo them and save them for as long as i could because they'll never air again and won't appear on dvd. Eventually they'll pull them of the web and i'll never be able to see them again. What happens 10 years from now if i think of the show but can't watch it. I hate when things like this happen. Please air the marathon again, but i know that will never happen. I've never used itunes before, if i download them there can i burn them on dvd and watch them on a normal dvd player? Otherwise that option is useless to me.

Well, aside from some odd kludges you might be able to arrange to record from the web, you can get Digital Video Reocorders which allow you to burn dvd-R[ecordable]s that should work in normal dvd players...don't know if that's true of I-tunes downloads. And I'm not sure that you won't be able to get dvds or similar formats eventually...but we Are still awaiting both Once and Again's third season and Relativity. Perhaps trading affinity groups can help you out.
