Episode Recap: Style
This week was about style. The girls got to show their style at a red-carpet event while In Touch magazine looked on and judged them. Robin told them they were getting a makeover to which they screamed uncontrollably for what seemed like the full hour. I’m not really sure why a makeover made these girls do the worm though. It doesn’t seem that exciting. All the girls ended up looking better in the end. Carrie looked completely different and Nicole, who won the challenge, looked more like a cross between Jenna Jameson and Mary Carey to me but I thought Jamie looked the best of all of them. She completely disagreed though and just let her new hair completely affect her performance.
As for the performances themselves, it was supposed to be disco night though the only song of the three that I consider disco was “Dim All the Lights.” Overall I thought the show dealt two of the groups a bum hand. Charyle, Nichole and Natalie were put on roller skates which is just completely unfair. Sorry, but Girlicious isn’t going to perform on skates. Cassandra, Ilisa and Jamie were given Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” which is in a ridiculously high register. Of course the girls singing “Dim All the Lights” were going to win the competition. They were the only ones who were given a normal song and only had to focus on that.
Ron wants to send Jamie home (though somehow he said he “didn’t know” who he wanted to get rid of when Robin questioned it) but in the end Cassandra is the one that goes home. I’ll tell you what else should go home – Ron’s hats.
Anyway, it’s time for me to make the predictions for the final three. My crystal ball says; Natalie, Carrie and Tiffanie. Agree or disagree?

I'm always stunned by makeovers on shows like this. For some reason, the contestants always look better to me BEFORE the makeovers! Natalie is very pretty and looks good even with straight hair. But, I much prefer her curls! (Ron even made a comment that she should never wear it curly again! Why? Because "ironed hair" is "in" now?)
They showed several girls having positive reactions to the makeovers, but the one girl who's hair was now dyed red HATED her hair and lost confidence. (Personally I felt that she had the only really successful makeover. She looked better with red hair!)
Ilise got a LOT of hair cut off! The length of her hair is one of the things that made her stand out. I HATE that they made her hairstyle look similar to everyone else's! She must be a real trooper. They didn't show one clip of her during the process. No tears, nothing. I don't know what she really thinks of her shorter hair but I wish they hadn't cut it. I felt the same way about Anastasia's hair last season. I was glad they left Anastasia's hair alone and wish they would have done the same with Ilise.
I agree that the "rollerskating" was kind of over-the-top. This is a DANCE competition! They could have shown off dance moves better if they weren't on skates!

I agree with all of you. The rollerskating was ridiculous (I assume Robin asked the ladies if they had actually ever skated). I agree with Lavergne about Natalie's hair. I think it looks better curly, plus it distinguishes her from the other girls.
Heart of Glass was not a fair choice of song, because not everyone has Debbie Harry's range.
Hey David, is there any word on Rock Star? Will it be back?

I was surprised that they kept Natalie's b#$%ing out of this weeks episode, wonder if that was because people are so sick of watching her whine, complain, back stab, etc...I sure appreciated it, I was still yelling at the TV for her to open her eyes...my god she bothers me, I believe it was when she made it and said she was being recognized for all her hard work *rolling eyes*
I thought they all looked great with their make overs...but besides a hair cut for Ilise, what else did they do for her make over...the girl who got the red hair and was crying crying crying, suck it up buttercup, its only hair, she looked great!!
the song choices were stupid, i never thought of the SOS Band as Disco but more R n B...never disco...blondi, early new wave maybe...donna summer was the only queen of disco (i love her)
sometimes i just wonder what they are looking for, when they were talking about who was gonna stay or go, i just wonder if they're looking for the cookie cutter girls of if they are gonna do something totally different, ron said cassandra was her exotic princess...that comment made me go hmmmm...she said girlicious would be something new, with a different sound, most seem to me just like the girls in PCD...same look, same moves
this is why i don't write blogs or many comments, i'm all over the place but i find it too early to choose right now, but in a perfect world, it would include Ilise and dang, i can't remember her name, the one that they said was lazy, didn't wanna practice her dancing, and exclude Natalie
