Episode Recap: Let's Get Girlicious
Hello again friends. It’s been a while since I’ve blogged a show but what better to bring me back to the blogging universe than 15 hot ladies. No one can seem to believe why I actually came back for a second season of PCD but I can’t fathom why they aren’t joining me. Haven’t they looked at Jamie or Megan or Alexis or well, the other 12? That’s more reasons to watch this show than anything else on TV except for, Rock of Love or anything with Kat Von D. Or…well, you get my point. Last season I said right up front I wasn’t going to let sexy ladies cloud my vision. This season, I’m not offering up any such promises.
Anyway, call it a guilty pleasure or even just simply a decent show. Either way, we have Season 2 of The Pussycat Dolls upon us, this time with a new format. Instead of finding another girl to “join” the Pussycat Dolls, Robin Antin decided to create a new group called Girlicious and pick some ladies to be a part of it. Gotta work out better than Asia did after season one, right?
So let’s talk about some of these ladies:
Obviously the first two on the radar are Natalie and Charlotte. Right up front Natalie picks her role as b-tch of the house and Charlotte plays right into it. Unfortunately for Charlotte, she’s the less talented of the two so Natalie had the upper hand in this battle. I know Charlotte said that Natalie was tone deaf during karaoke, but I didn’t hear that at all. I loved her voice there and during the performance, which Charlotte just wasn’t very good. Frankly, I’m shocked Charlotte went home though since drama makes such good TV.
The next girl that stood out to me was Ilisa. She’s got a weird look for this show. A tall red-head with some thickness isn’t the typical girl group fodder. Plus, when not all sexed up for the performance she looked more like a metal chick to me. And what was up with the outfit for karaoke? She’s the only one in two seasons that dressed down to go out.
Carrie stands out completely for her look alone. The dark new-wave eyes make her look totally different than her promo picture. The promo shot on the CW website didn’t really flatter her and neither did this look. So can we expect a third look to be the charm?
Two of the three ladies I mentioned up front are my favorite right off the bat. I think Megan is the sexiest girl of the group so she automatically becomes a favorite of mine. We didn’t get to see a whole lot of her tonight though. Hopefully they are just saving some of her up for the future. However, Jamie takes the first lead for me as not only is she beautiful, but we saw a little more about her so we can see she can sing and dance too.
Overall, highly entertaining, though I’m a bit distraught. I was encouraged when Mark McGrath signed back on to be the host because I just love making him the butt of jokes. But someone must have bought some WD-40 for the McGrathbot this season. His time on camera wasn’t nearly as stiff and robotic as in the past. I’m hoping for the sake of this blog that “McGrathbot” won’t cease to exist or I may just have to turn the jokes to that vocal coach. Man, is he ugly. (Just trying it out, you know…in case.)
So which girls jump off the screen at you?

I thought Charlotte looked a lot like Chelsea from last season (not as stunning, but similar facial features). (I think that's the right name.) And I was sure the Charlotte/Natalie set up was going to be a replay of Chelsea/Melissa and that they'd keep her around for the ratings a good cat fight can bring. Although it looks like Natalie doesn't need Charlotte to bring her claws out.

Does anyone know if Asia (the winner from last season) is in the group, when they were showing clips from the PCD I did not see Asia one time.
I'm usually pretty good at picking the finalist in the beginning of the show...but My one pick went home, I really liked Charlotte...and also Little Kim looks like she went to Michael Jackson's Plastic Surgeon...WOW she looks terrible to me.

kimbkmb - Asia is not in the group. From what I understand, Asia "chose" to go solo instead.
Many ways to interpret that one I guess.
