« Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious
Episode Recap: Charisma
Right now I’m in two different worlds. I’m sitting here typing up a blog on women jiggling their assets while listening to the brilliant Ghosts I-IV by Nine Inch Nails. That’s two very different modes that somehow are blending together nicely right now. I’m sure both Trent Reznor and Lil’ Kim would both be dismayed to hear that.
Well, last week I asked for the show to disguise who was leaving a little better and they did a good job this week. For the first half of the show I assumed Ilisa was going to have to hang up the boa based on her crazy amount of screen time and then I thought Jenna was getting booted by the end. But never did I think Alexis. So thanks, PCD.
As I said, Ilisa got the screen time tonight. Everyone is completely correct, she has not one bit of the girl group look. At first it seems like it’s hurting her but then the kids love how much she stands out. But then just when you start to think she’s okay, all three judges talk about how she doesn’t look the part (at least until she gets on stage). So I just wonder why she made the cut if all the judges already don’t think she can make it just on her looks alone? And I’m not disagreeing at all, it’s just a bit weird to me.
I’m glad she did well with the kids though. I thought the performance for the children was the best segement of the season so far. It was edited together a bit strangely I thought as it seemed like Robin was calling them up for a spur of the moment performance but they all looked pretty well choreographed to me but other than that it was kind of fun seeing these young kids tear into the contestants. As much as I dislike Natalie at this point, the kids are completely correct how great she is. I think she’s an absolute lock to be part of this group at the end. I’m not sure about the other two right now.
For the first time this season I thought all the end performances were pretty solid. I think Carrie is the most talented person there and she was great. And, she toned down the hair a bit and didn’t look so scary. Her and Jamie really made “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. That was the best group performance of the season so far.
And goodbye to Alexis. You’re going to make one sexy dentist.
Until next time, friends.

That girl is just WAY too full of herself. I hope I get to see the universe take her down a peg...

satori - I completely agree with you. I can't stand her two-timing crap. But, the girl can sing and dance which means she's great for this competition and she's dramatic - which makes for great TV. She fits the reality show mold well, don't you think? Not saying that's a good thing though.
I think the peg will get removed when the album doesn't sell.

Ilisa reminds me a bit of Anastasia from the first season. Both had long, sriking hair that really stands out. Both are also bigger girls, towering over some of the other petite contestants.
Having the target audience of young girls evaluate the performances was a clever twist. Those kids were really opinionated! I'm glad they liked Ilisa because that will boost her confidence and self-esteem. And she's gonna need it.
She's really in a hornet's nest of catty, mean-spirited girls. (Some of them are awfully hurtful.) There are a few nice ones (like Dentist-girl) but a couple are really awful.
Natalie is a standout on stage with her curly hair and pretty face. But, she's terribly cruel with her off-stage comments. Her arrogance is unbelievable! I found myself wondering if those little girls would have found her as appealing if they saw some of those clips with her "bad-mouthing" the other contestants.

i don't usually add my two cents when i read the blogs, i really don't have anything original to say cause you all have already said it...but i had to comment on natalie....she is a witch with a capitol B...everytime i see her on the tv i'm screaming out "open your effing eyes!!!!!"her attitude and personality sucks so much that i feel if she did make it into this "super group" that it would turn alot of people off cause her attitude just sucks so bad...isn't she the one who said she is being recognized for all the hard work in her life (all 18 years) to make it there...oye...she makes me spit nails whenever i see her...she's just so rude, there's no need of that and one last thing...GO Ilisa...i think she rocks...bring something new to these young impressionable girls

I think that Nicole, even though she was a little mean in the 2nd episode, is the best singer/dancer there. I don't know about the rest of the people who judged her, but I also really like Cassandra. She has talent for a girl with absolutely no vocal training. And, like everyone else, I think Natalie should go. She acts like she's the hottest and the best singer, but I think she won the challenge by luck. She shouldn't have stayed. Alexis, who I absolutely LOVED in her 1st performance (her part in "Tainted Love"), shouldn't have gone home this round. I knew she wouldn't have made it all the way to the end, but if they're gonna send anyone home, it should be Natalie...
