Didn't Chelsea look hot tonight?
Sorry, had to get that out of my system. This is Angel Cohn, and I was doing my best to channel normal PCD blogger Dave Steed. My personal favorite got kicked off last week: I loved Anastacia and all that sexy hair and her sort of atypical look. That said, I actually do like Chelsea, and I felt bad for her when Melissa S. was picking on her and laughing every time that Mikey critiqued her. That's just not nice. I think Miss Melissa learned that reality-TV karma comes back to bite… and hard.
Melissa S. does have the dance moves. She was banging it out in front of the mirror on her own. But she got more screen time for her mean comments and her vicious little interview session with Mark McGrath than her actual dancing. I was far more impressed by Robin Antin's abs during the choreography session. Damn! I'm not entirely sure how old Robin is, but I'd love to have abs like that at some point in my life. Unfortunately, I'm way less coordinated than poor Chelsea. I tried to do a hip-hop workout once, and it wasn't pretty… trust me.
I almost fast-forwarded through a good portion of this episode because it was hard to tell the difference between the fake commercials the girls were doing, their interviews with Mark McGrath and all of the "CWH" segments that the former Sugar Ray singer was doing. What happened to Mark McGrath? Really. I am not totally ashamed to admit that I have his CDs and maybe even enjoyed seeing them in concert… twice. But now I just don't get what's going on with him.
Speaking of things that confuse me, when did this show turn into The Apprentice meets America's Next Top Model? I understand them having to do interviews and photo sessions, because that's something the real Pussycat Dolls would have to do. But the commercials? I guess they'd possibly have to do some promotional spots, but it would likely be as one of seven girls. Eh, it was nice to see a different side from Asia, and I thought she proved that despite her "drag queen" dance moves she's got a fun side.
As far as the performances go… they all seem like good dancers to me. Really, they are scantily clad and shaking their groove thang. Unless one of them fell flat on her butt or was drastically out of sync, I say they're good to go. Singing-wise… well, that's another matter entirely.
I didn't really love Melissa S.' rendition of that Norah Jones song. I know it wasn't her fault that she had to do that tune, but I thought she was a little too peppy. Asia covered up her flaws in the JoJo song with a good performance. Heck, that strategy's been working really well for Sanjaya. Melissa R. looked smokin' and really nailed that tough song. I didn't even really know that Mary J. Blige tune, but I think she stands the best chance of being the next Pussycat Doll. And as far as Chelsea, it wasn't her best vocal performance, but I'm giving her a little extra credit for singing Christina Aguilera while all scrunched up in that chair and for attempting to work in some dance moves.
Melissa S. was the latest gal to hang up her boa and won't make it into the final three for the final episode. It had to be hard to hear Ron Fair say that she has "that sexy Vegas-y, white trashy thing that works for me." Not sure that's what any girl really wants to hear. At least Chelsea gave her a big hug, and seemingly forgave the ousted wannabe for bashing her in front of Mark McGrath.
Off to next week and the finale. Predictions on who will win? My money's on Melissa R. — Angel Cohn

I really want Melissa R. (can we just call her Melissa now that the inferior one is finally gone?) to win the whole thing, but I have my doubts. I know everyone loves Chelsea, and sure she has a good voice, I just don't want her to win. Melissa R. is Filipina and representing. The only problematic thing is that she looks like a mini-me of Nicole. *sigh* She's gorgeous though.

I want Chelsea to win, but it'll be the draggish Asia chick with the drumming fingers as a schtick. Not only is she over-the-top in every way, but she'll fit right in with the rest of the female impersonator-like group members. You'll see.

For once, I didn't hate Asia. I thought it was really nice to see her soft side today when she helped out Chelsea and talked about her daughter in that way. But, the previews next week looks like she's going back to her diva side and I'm going to go back to disliking her.
I really hope that Melissa R. wins. She has everything, personality, talent, beauty, etc. I would be fine if Chelsea wins because she's so gorgeous and such an amazing singer but I don't think she has any chance at all. I would really hate it if Asia wins, with her bitchiness, but the way she's been performing lately, I have a feeling that she will be on top when this is finished.

So glad Chels made it through.
I was never impressed with Melissa S. I don't think she's attractive, that good a singer or a good dancer.
I really want Chels to make it, but I know she's a long shot with her lack of dance history. I'll be fine if Melissa R makes it. She can sing and dance and is pretty. I won't be okay if Asia makes it. I don't see what the judges and some fans see in her. I don't think she's attractive. I don't think she can sing. Add in the fact that she's not personable and I think she'd bring the PCD down. I'm surprised she's made it this far.
I too don't know why they had to do commercials. Although, I have seen the PCD in some commercials, but they weren't talking.
BTW, Robin will be 46 in July.

I'm sorry, but Melissa S. getting to sing "Don't Know Why" is the vocal equivalent of sitting on a swing in comparison to what the other girls had to do.

I've been rooting for Melissa R. from the beginning and she's still my pick to win. Chelsea did a good job with the dancing, for a change. Asia's a good performer, but has such a lousy personality.
It depends on what type of girl they're looking to place in the PCD. If Nicole is leaving, I can see Melissa R. taking her place.
Robin Antin did look fabulous last night. I take back what I said about her being too old to style some of those outfits she's been wearing. If I had a body like her's, I'd wear next to nothing to flaunt it.

I want Melissa R. to win. She's been my favorite from the very beginning. I think Chelsea's lack of dancing skills cannot be overlooked, since 95% of PCD is about dancing. And Asia's vocal performances are not the best, but I was happy to see she stopped finger-tapping on the microphone. More so than finding out the winner, I can't wait to see PCD perform on next week's finale!

I am so glad that Melissa S and her bitchy little self is gone. She was so nasty to Chelsea for really no reason. Jealous of her voice? I think Chelsea is the prettiest and the best singer. I think she could learn the dance moves. I mean it's just shaking your butt most of the time.

Go Chelsea. As for who will win that will depend on what Robin is looking for. Another dancer/"singer" to backup Nicole. Or another lead singer to assist Nicole.

Melissa S. was very mean. Doesnt she realized shed have been working with 6 other girls? that wouldnt fly. I love CHelsea and Melissa R. I cant decide! Asia's voice isnt very good, I think between she and Melissa, Melissa isthe betterchoice. I think these girls (esp the last 5 or 6) are much more talented than the pcatdolls/ Robin should have them form their own group!

I can't stand Asia's speaking voice. It's awful. I didn't think her commercial was that great either. Did you see the way she was holding the product? Where's Tyra or Mr. Jay when you need them?
Robin is in good shape.
I loved Chelsea's pink dress. She looked fabulous. While it may not have been her best vocal, I still think she did a good job. Go Chelsea!

I cannot stand Asia and hope she doesn't win. I'm also so glad that Melissa S. got kicked off. What a bitch, but karma's a bigger one. Haha!
I've wanted Melissa R. to win from the get-go but I slowly warmed up to Chelsea because she's so cute and such a fighter.
What was up with Asia saying that she wants to show girls that you can be a teenage mother? I know what she meant but it also sounded like she was like saying "come on girls, get knocked up, it's totally easy to have a kid!" How does she plan to balance being a mother and a Pussycat Doll when they tour all the time? Melissa R. is only 18 and her vocals are stronger than Asia's (not quite as good as Chelsea's though) and out of the remaining three, she is the best dancer.
I'm surprised you don't know Mary J. Blige's version of "I'm Going Down" (it's a remake), Angel. It was one of her first hits and played constantly on MTV (back when MTV actually played music). I thought Melissa R. did great and I can definitely see her in the group.
