Episode Recap: "Under & Out"

Now that's not a fair place to end the episode! Lucky for myself, I have the next few eps of Prison Break on DVD, so I was able to quell any frustration/impatience by "reading ahead." More on that (perhaps) later.

So, this week we learned (confirmed?) a bit more about Whistler, mainly that it is some coordinates he has that The Company wants. Crafty guy, tearing the slip in half as a sign of good faith to evil, evil Gretchen, but still buying himself some time and security. But coordinates leading to what? What on earth is so valuable that T.C. would go to such lengths/expense? I mean, a few episodes ago they footed the bill to have a small military storm the prison!

T-Bag sure has been working Lechero (and anybody else who'll listen), going on about how Scofield will stab you in the back and what not. Yeah, because Teodoro is such an upstanding citizen. I didn't think that Lechero would fall for that nonsense (or for the "slave" taunt), but I guess he did. it is kind of a bummer to see him betray Michael, but I guess that is what a ruthless drug lord would do.

Meanwhile, if I am burly Lechero, I have to question my ability to climb out of a hole and sprint anywhere in 30 seconds.

That Susan B. is a real sweetie pie, eh? "The bun or the oven"? Real nice. Sucre really botched things by exposing his jugular (i.e. Maricruz). And now it looks like his Sona boss is onto his scheme to sabotage the patrol jeep. Sloppy, sloppy. (But hey, it was cool seeing him in the Super Bowl commercial!)

I'm glad the "basketball kid" scored a space on the team, but at what expense? They're all but putting him in a Star Trek away team red shirt. "Am I really going to see my papi?" Yikes. Don't buy any green bananas, kid.

Coming next week: a pretty cool twist in the escape plan (or at least what we thought was the escape plan)... a months-long mystery is finally uncovered... and more dumb Sucre.

Hello PB Fans everywhere. It's an honor to be the first to comment on tonight's riveting episode. I'm still confused about all the things that may happen in this convuluted and creatively amazing show. Looking forward to next week and...will there ever be a 24 this year? These shows are so good. It's like tv has be re-created. These shows are not for everybody but I would hope the ratings will continue to rise. Maybe not like superbowl numbers but close. Loved tonight's performance by T-bag. He should be called another kind of "bag" but the actor, robert Knepper is marvelous. Join in please.

Man. Someone needs to create a Top 10 Most Idiotic Characters in a TV Series list. Sucre would be my #2. (for those curious, my #1 would be Mohinder from Heroes)

I have an idea of what the Company wants at those coordinates, and why they are willing to go to such lengths:

It's a Rambaldi artifact!

Dun dun duuuuuun.

Top 10 Most Idiotic Characters in a TV Series is funny Zinger314. And I agree with your #1 choice as well.

Did anybody hear what Bellick pathetically asking Mahone to take him in as his foster kid when they get back to the states? Oh my poor Bellick. But funny when he asked "how do you say don't shot in Spanish?"

Glad we got more of T-bag. Robert Kneeper is so good in this role. I was remembering how many people he killed with his one hand last season. I wonder if he will do that by the end of this season. I always got a kick out of that.

Even though Sucre has done some idiotic things....I still love my Sucre.

Tonight was a good episode....well I think so. I think the kid is going to get killed. And did anybody else cringe when Gretchen branded or whatever to Sophia?

Am I the only one who thinks those one liners by Susan suck? Who writes her dialogue? It seems like a completely different person than who writes the rest of the show. I cringe every time she opens her mouth.

I agree!

When Susan made the comment:

"If I tell you, then I'm going to have to kill you."

I actually groaned and said, "That's original." Ugh, someone has GOT to kill her just because she's so friggin annoying.

Sucre, Sucre, well, my thinking (because I love him and I try to think the best of him) is that he and Michael will be back together and Sucre is Michael's only real friend (and yes I believe Alex will be next on that list) because Michael is planning on not escaping. I am guessing because of his conversations with Lincoln (I am exhausted), Whislter (would you escape if you weren't in this position, no, I believe in paying for my sins) and just his words of warning to the basketball kid. The Whistler thing had more resonance with me when Sucre outright said to Gretchen that Michael was having doubts because of the bad guys he let out the last time (so I am guessing that Michael believes he will to the time for the people TBag killed). So, my guess for who is left behind is Sucre, Michael and Alex (and I am not clear on that one as to why)

I hate Gretchen!!!! There is not one single redeeming characteristic about her - even when they tried to explain she is this way because she was gang raped in prison doesn't stir any sympathy. I can't wait until she meets her demise!

I watched the previews ***SPOILER ALERT*** and it looks like Michael has an alternate plan and possibly Lechero and T-Bag are caught?!?! He's so smooth and I love that he may find a way to escape without releasing more violent criminals like what happened in escape #1.

Although the rush toward the Big Escape was exciting, I was repeatedly annoyed with characters in last night's episode. I accept that a high degree of suspension of disbelief is required for a fan of PB, but plot lines for certain people were incredibly unbelievable: Sucre couldn't possibly be that dumb; TBag stirring up trouble for Mike and Lechero buying it (didn't it occur to them that the first ones outa the tunnel might be the most likely caught or killed?);and Gretchen with, well, anything she says/does...Still like PB.

Ok. First of all, english is not my first language, and I understand perfectly, but I cannot wirte correctly, so excuse me for my lack of writing. The episode was very good, but not as great as I expected after that commercial in the superbowl. and I don´t know about the hate to Susan, she´s extremly hot... those eyes, that face, and she kicks ass.... that´s the kind of girl I just love. Is it true that we only have two more episodes for this season? and after those episodes... it will be the end of the season or the series...? who knows about it?

These are the notes I wrote during the show…

Ok, first I gotta say, LoL to T-Bag quoting bible versus! Too funny… And nice to see him doing manual labor, one handedly, as easily as he kills!

Wonder if Sofia got into that briefcase or not… I just don’t get it, she was an easy target… Guess maybe cause she didn’t think she was a target at that point… Gretchen, just wanna slap the crap out of her… They write that character to be such a tough girl, but the actress doesn’t cut it for me still, after the whole season… I just don’t see her as the bada$$ type, ya know? My lord tho, I am just waiting till Michael gets his hands on her… But the one thing I fear, with Michael’s sensitivity to all the “wrong” things he has done, will his character be able to stand up to killing someone out of revenge? As nice as it might sound to have revenge on her, I just don’t know how he would cope… But we shall see, I gather…

T-Bag… First off, being one of the first out, will he get shot first? LoL! He was scheming so hard for everyone to turn on Michael cause in all actuality, I think he knows that the one person he can not mess with or kill, for that matter, is Michael… Michael has never backed down to him and for sure, he isn’t about to start… So if T-bag is killed among the escape, it’d be no sweat off of Michael’s brow…

Sucre… Poor guy, he can blunder just about anything… Although he did come thru for Michael and disabling the jeep patrol, but now he is in a heap of stuff… I think when the lights come down, he will find a way out of there… I can only hope anyhow… And really, would’ve loved to see Sucre hit Gretchen right back! But in all honesty, I thought the guard was actually following Sucre around as he was creeping through the yard, but then, I thought we’d have seen him appear faster than he did… Where did the warrant come from? Gretchen? The “bossman” who was using him as transport, the one who wanted Luchero dead? Cause I really don’t see Linc being a part of Sucre getting a name and such, but this name being a “dirty” name? Do y’all? Hopefully we will see how that one plays out…

Whistler… Is he sincere? I mean, yeah those were real tears, but that man has been nothing but puzzles this whole time… Gretchen needs the coordinates from him but is text messaging someone as him… Hmmm…

So the kid got on to the band wagon… Michael is going to help him get to a place where his father can come and get him… I hope it works out for him… I like that kid, and they hopefully wont just kill him off he doesn’t deserve to be SONA anyhow in my opinion…

So, my burning question for tonight… Are they really going to wrap up the series in two episodes… That is what the previews lead me to believe… I don’t know how they can tie up the loose ends… But that is my opinion… Gonna wait to see what happens tho, cause I’m dying to find out…

After reading the blog, 2 comments...

Zinger314 LoL!!!

And, someone posted that Michael possibly will not break out... I dont know what I think of that... I mean, the point of the story was for Michael to bust Linc out and them live in the sun somewhere far away... Yeah, I get that plan went astray, but still, I see Michael getting out and avoiding everyone... And also, he has to exact his revenge, some way, some how on Gretchen for what she did to Sara... Again, my opinion!

Anyhow, till next week! Take care!

It's just the last two episodes for now. They didn't call it the winter finale because it very well could be the season finale and they didn't call it the season finale cause if the strike ends fast enough the season would continue. So they said last two episodes cause at the moment that's the last two that were written and filmed.

I thought they were going to try to get another season ~ of Micheal breaking Sucre out! lol

Glad we got more of T-bag. Robert Kneeper is so good in this role. I was remembering how many people he killed with his one hand last season. I wonder if he will do that by the end of this season. I always got a kick out of that.

That sounds so funny that you got a kick out of him one handedly killing! I agree ~ killing people with one hand with no problem is bad enough ~ But in real life he probably would have died from an infection in that hand anyway since he never really had any medical attention. But I don't care at all because he is such a great actor and character.

And who pays the cell phone bill? Haven't they run out of minutes? Again ~ I don't really care ~ It's just funny to see him making so many calls from "the worst jail on the planet".

Gretchen, just wanna slap the crap out of her… They write that character to be such a tough girl, but the actress doesn’t cut it for me still, after the whole season…

I agree. At least she has done well enough for us to hate her...but she doesn't cut it for me either. At least we will get a thrill when she gets killed!

And I agree that the poor kid is probably gonna die.

Zinger - LOL - you are right on on your #1 & #2's. I just shook my head over Sucre last night. And I thought of you to lizzybelle - 'cuz I know you are such a big fan, but I knew you would be true blue to your boy!:-x

I also caught Bellick asking Mahone about coming with him. I felt so bad for him then. He has done some very jerky things but I really don't want Bellick to get killed.

And Gretchen burned Sophia with a cigar! I have been wondering for awhile about Dominic saying he's going to get lucky, and I think we all know with who, but until he bought her that charm I haven't sensed any tension between them, so it was nice to see him freak out when she got burned.

Now I also thought that the first out of that hole will get shot. Luchero no big deal, and while, T-bag is a scum who deserves to die, I hope he doesn't go out that way. It has to be more poetic when he dies.

Just like Gretchen! God, I cannot stand that woman, and her dumb dialoge (so right about that Stupidgroundhog & allsummersingle), and lovejackbauer - yeah, I have no sympathy for her either.

I really want Michael to kill her, slowly. I actually want Linc, and Sucre and Sophia to each get in a lick or two as well. A simple gunshot will not be enough. If she goes out like Kim I will be mad. I want it to be more personal. (I swear I am normally not so cold blooded but this woman - HATE HER!)

justme - I too wonder if Whistler is sincere. He did have Sara killed afterall.

Oh, and the kid. Please, please, please DO NOT kill him. I will be crushed and heartbroken and I think they could just throw me a bone and not hurt him huh?:O

Countryqueen, I have to agree. If they kill of LJ, I think I'm done. I'm barely holding on as it is, the "plot" this season isn't moving me at all. Can only hope it gets better
