Episode Recap: "Boxed In"
For starters, and I did a bit of a rant on this in the podcast, the Michael-in-a-long-sleeve-shirt thing is getting very silly. There he was, sitting in a solitary confinement "cell" designed to sweat the inmate into subserviance if not death, and he doesn't strip — all because, what, Wentworth won't slap on the faux tatts for one episode? OK, nit is picked.
Storywise, I question Michael's decision to involve the new "general" or whatever in the details of the escape plan forced upon him. As Linc said, LJ could have easily been Tancredi'd if things went wrong (as they did). Of course, things would not have gone as badly had General Mynameistoast taken an actual police force with him to the shack, instead of one ADD-addled dope. That scene, and the water torture, sure showed us some new depths to Gretchen's grit. Too bad she then fell for the, "Sucre is quarreling with Linc" trap. Duh!
Who else was cheering when Bellick bested the Latin king? That was so awesome, dirty tricks or not. Our boy who paraded around for so (OK, too) long in but a diaper now has some cred. Damn T-bag for seemingly plotting to undermine it.
Sammy is so going to die, it's just a matter of by whose hand. Good. He bugs me.
So many episodes into the season now, what do we all think of the casting of Whistler? I'm just not feeling it. Something is a bit off. Or maybe it's just the character, who is so vaguely defined.
My favorite moment of this week? When Michael got in Susan B.'s face and asked her if she killed Sarah. It could be so easy to completely forget the Sarah/love lost angle, but when Michael promises to "come find you," you do remember the pain he must be feeling inside.

When Michael asked if she killed Sara - I actually yelled at the TV for him to hurt her! Kick her - do something. Ugh -I do not like that lady.
The 'argument' with Sucre & Lincoln? I knew it was a set up right away. But they fell for it & of course, she swept right in to try & make things better for Sucre. 1 up on her.
Will Sammy kill Luchero? Will Mahone survive? Will T-Bag kill Sammy or someone else? Poor Bellick, what is he getting himself into. Hopefully not a fight with Sammy, but that's kind of what it looks like for next week.
L.J. - is he going to survive another episode? I read elsewhere - why is he still alive? Ok, so I saw the title. Didn't read it.
Finally Lincoln changed his shirt - too bad he sweated right through it.
Too tired to think anymore. Glad to have the guys back. But this show goes by much too fast at times.

What disturbed me about the episode was that Michael was actually honest to the General. And he had no ulterior motive (unless you consider survival an ulterior motive...)
Otherwise, the episode was a little slower than normal. But still very good.

You do realize that Michael's hands were handcuffed when he was in the solitary box? So yeah he could have pulled the shirt off--and then had it dangling over his hands. Besides, being covered protected him from sunburn I wish I had re-read the recap from the last ep. before the break--I was confused over the Whistler/Mahone connection. Actually, I'm having trouble keeping everyone's connections to everyone else straight. But I'm glad the boys are back. Now, bust them out so Michael can soooo kick Susan B's butt. She is really underestimating both brothers.

First I am very glad PB is back but I am kinda disappointed with the story lines. The general guy has to have more common sense than to have 1 other guard with him when they are trying to rescue LJ. I think my fave scene was when Michael asked Susan if he killed Sara and threatened to come after her. YEAH!!!! Ger her!!!
Well I am just glad its back. Aileen

You do realize that Michael's hands were handcuffed when he was in the solitary box? So yeah he could have pulled the shirt off--and then had it dangling over his hands. Besides, being covered protected him from sunburn. You made a very good point bluesheepBut he still could of had the choice of sitting through the long hours of getting his fake tats, instead being miserable for long periods of time in the sun. And for that matter making his fans miserable by looking at him.
Anyway Im so glad that my favorite show is back. Im so glad that I saved the last episode on my dvr and watched it before tonights episode aired.
I was also yelling at that general guy or whatever he was for not bringing more than one guy with him. What kind of cop does that? Well maybe on Days of our Lives.
I wanted Sammy dead along time ago. I hope he goes soon, I cant stand looking at him anymore. Speaking of T-Bag killing someone....why hasn't he killed anyone this season? He has killed at least 6 people last season. I missed seeing that.
Anyway, love to have my show back with my 3 favorite men, Sucre, Linc, and Mike. Love it Love it Love it.

Anyone else think it was odd that LJ mentioned that he didn't actually see Sarah die because he closed his eyes? Seems like the writers are maybe keeping their options open in case she wants to return. Or am I just way too hopeful?

StupidGroundhog: I think you're being way too hopeful. They left Sarah's head in a box for Linc to find, remember? That's when I stopped watching, and I'm all the better for it!

I thought the same thing about Sara MAYBE not being dead.
The comment from LJ about not seeing her get killed, then Susan B. made the comment to Michael, after he asked if she killed Sara- "I don't know what you're talking about."
I know her head was supposed to be in the box, but maybe, just maybe, it wasn't her. I'm sure Linc didn't look to long and hard to really make sure it was Sara.
Granted, Susan may have just been lying, but to put 2 comments like that in one episode. It gives me hope that Sara may, one day, resurface.

So very glad PB has returned. Maybe millions more will have tuned in with this being a no-repeat show and what a fantastic show it is.The strike should have more people curious about this show especially after all the commercials for it during the great Giant's victory. Wow that was a BIG game and they almost blew it right at then end if not for that interception. I can't stand the "clients" in Sona...so depressing and ugly. I much rather see the beautiful sites of Panama and the ocean. It's such a change of scenery especially beautiful on my girlfriend's new High Def LCD TV. What an amazing difference in enjoyment and technology. I was not surprised that Gretchen was able to get out of her mess but to able to kill 2 people with such ease makes me uncomfortable to say the least. Seeing Michael in that sweat box made me reach out for a glass of water. It reminded me of the old sweat shops decades ago when dozens of garment workers would be stuffed into a factory and the labor laws were not regulated. Cant wait for next week. Can't believe that there may not be a "24". This strike is crazy!!

Just wondering something: on the TV Guide website, the recap for last night's introduces Molly and has the episode concluding with her visit to Sona. I take it this was what the original episode would've have been before the writers' strike? And if so, why did TV Guide keep it on their page without updating it, since it didn't happen?? Well, all I can say is I LOVE PB!!! I wasn't into it at the beginning and didn't catch on until the last 5 episodes of Season 2, so I bought Season 1 and 2 - I watched all 22 Season 1 episodes in about 24 hours! Same for Season 2! I rewatched Season 3 online so I was definitely up to speed This 1st episode was amazing!

PB is back! Thank you! Great ep. My favorite scene was Michael threatening Gretchen. Such a beautiful moment.
I wouln't be too sure that Linc and Sucre succeeded in faking out Gretchen. She may have given the appearance that she fell for it, but somehow I doubt it.
Looking forward to the rest of the very short season.
Love this show!!!!

I was very glad to watch some real tv! It was great to see all these characters (and actors) again. I think they did a pretty good job with the storyline too. It seemed a little unbelievable in that last episode before this but they tied it together nicely. SUCKS that there is only going to be 4 more episodes!
Did anyone think that T Bag was going to inject Mahone with that needle wether he wanted it or not?
Very interested to see who the Whistler really is and how he is connected to everything.
Bellick's win was pretty cool! Maybe T Bag will ask him to kill Sammy.

I love PB anyway but honest to god this was Oscar worthy stuff after watching all the reality shows and reruns! Thankful to have a real series back on and now the frosting on the cupcake when LOST returns!!
I thought the same thing, they are in the tropics and sweating like pigs and then he's in a box and didn't even pull his shirt up his back to cool off. I'm sure it was because of the tattoos. Was it just me or did that punishment box look as if it was covered in Saran Wrap? I thought that could have been done a little better. And that's my ONLY complaint. Loved the show, exciting, busy, kept my mind jumping to keep up with each segment of the story. Best ever scene is when Michael said he was coming for her. Lord I hope he makes her suffer. There will lots of cheering and not just from me I think! Welcome back PB!!

OMG!! I love PB, its simply the best show. I love my boy Michael, he is just too HOT!!! anyway about the show, I hope Sara is alive and maybe one day she will return. Maybe that is why "those" comments were made just in case. I wished I watched the last episode before this one but I dont have Ti-Vo or DVR yet I can not wait until next week to see how everything turns out and they break out. Someone will be lefted behind but I cant figure out who it will be!!!
