The Coen brothers' No Country for Old Men saw no shortfall of love from Academy voters, who on Sunday night handed the drama a bevy of gold, including a win for best picture. Javier Bardem, an early front-runner in the supporting-actor race, earned kudos for his role in the film, while the Coens' script won for best adapted screenplay.

In the lead-acting categories, Daniel Day-Lewis won for There Will Be Blood and Marion Cotillard took home a statue for La Vie en Rose. Tilda Swinton earned supporting-actress honors for Michael Clayton.

Ratatouille scurried off with the prize for best animated feature.

Probably the biggest surprises for me were Marion Cotillard (she looked as surprised as I was lol) and Tilda Swinton winning. Or No Country for Old Men losing three of it's Oscars to Bourne Ultimatum. I'm ok with it though. I haven't seen La Vien Rose but it looks like a great film and I really loved Swinton in Michael Clayton. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the results this year.

I watched this s few weeks ago, only it was called The BAFTAS.

With the exception of Best Picture, The BAFTAS pretty much nailed the Oscars this year.

Wow, Javier Bardem does look a lot like JDM. I hadn't noticed that before. Both very handsome men.

I had to do a double take on Javier as well. I was starting to wonder why JDM was in the front row. I may just go see the movie because of that.
