Episode Recap: "Contract"

Not to fret CI fans, I didn’t get a chance to see Wheeler’s return last night; however I will put a recap up as soon as I can this week. In the meantime, please use this space to voice your thoughts on the new episode.

It is great to have Wheeler and Logan back! It was a very good episode, and I loved the shoutout to Mary McCormack (Mary Shannon) of In Plain Sight who did a cameo insisting that she had to be in Albuquerque by 10PM!

YAY!!!! Logan's back!!!! And Wheeler, who is now engaged. Hmmmm....

Well Fallaci won't be back as she's gone to Quantico to work for the Feds, or did I misunderstand what Logan said? I had to giggle when Wheeler picked up Fallaci's hairbrush and purple nail polish and dump them in the trash, as if Good Riddance!, lol.

I was disappointed that Mo Rocco was killed so early in the episode. I was hoping he'd stay on longer. I find it interesting that comedians, like Steve Colbert, Mo, and Darryl Hammond, who are SO FUNNY, play killers, blackmailers, despotic, villainous creeps on the L&O shows. (Hammond's been on both SVU and CI).

Logan was lookin' pretty good. Did he slim down since January?

Did anyone else notice that that actor who died of congenital heart disease--that what his doctor gave him was a "ripped from the headlines" regarding Heath Ledger?

Loved, loved how Logan got that fat, sleazy producer/director/whatever. "Right backatcha" and shows HIS recorder.

Was confused at first as to WHY Mo's character was killed and who did it and why.

Will wait for Katie's recap to post other thoughts.

Does anyone know if Julianne Nicholson (Wheeler) absense for last season was planned? I was surprised to see her back on the show, but very happy. She is by far my favorite Logan partner. It's just so unusual for someone to leave for such as short time and come back. If anyone can enlighten me on what happened, I'd appreciate it.

Julianne Nicholson was on maternity leave. She and her husband Jonathan Cake had a little boy named Ignatius in September.

Although, I am a die-hard Goren/Eames fan and I love all their episodes (some have to grow on me after I've watched them a few times), I'm enjoying the Logan episodes more and more. I just got the DVDs of the original L&O when Chris Noth first played Mike Logan and it's really nice to have that character still around after all these years.

I'm really glad Julianne Nicholson is back as Megan Wheeler. I liked Barek okay and Fallaci was a hoot and a half, but Wheeler is my favorite partner for Logan. It was cute at the beginning when he said something like "it's been quiet while you were gone for five months and now that you're back all hell is breaking loose" and she replied, "I missed you too Logan." I also like the scene where Wheeler picked up Fallaci's "Princess" cup and her hairbrush and nail polish. I was hoping they would say something about what happened to her. Quantico, cool. That fits her somehow.

The story was good with lots of twists and surprises. I absolutely loved Mo Rocca as T.K. Richmond. Too bad, he was the victim and we only got to see him for such a short time. I hope he'll continue to do more guest appearances, especially on crime dramas since that's all I watch. ;)
I'm really looking forward to the Goren/Eames episode next Sunday, but with their story taking such a serious turn lately, I need the Logan/Wheeler episodes to balance it out.

I liked Falacci (and her princess cup) but pixie-haired Wheeler is not bad either. Clever "In Plain Sight" cameo. I totally didn't get the 10pm reference at first.

Sangetta and Mlmjlm0627--THANK YOU! I was going nuts last night trying to figure who T.K. Simmons was--I missed the opening credits. I knew the voice--but I didn't recognized Mo Rocca until you guys identified him! I agree that this story was very well done.

Most welcome, Pat. I wouldn't have known who he was if not for me watching VH1's best videos/songs of the 70's, 80's, 90's, lol. He was a regular commentator on those flashbacks. I miss that VH1 doesn't do those anymore.

Best line of the night when Mary Shannon left the room and Wheeler said "Slut!!" ha ha ha.... The other thing is that of course this brings In Plain Sight into the Tommy Westphall universe....

I also thought it was ironic ( as the previous poster stated it was more geared at Heath Ledger dropping dead) but when the doctor mentioned the burst Aorta, all I could think of was Russert.. A tought bit of timing....

Didn't John Ritter die of congenital burst aorta that his physicians missed...leading to a lawsuit by his widow?

First rate episode. Loved all the twists and turns. It's great having wheeler back. I liked Falacci and the way she just bull-dozed her way around but I think she might have gotten to be a bit much after awhile. Wheeler is a good balance for Logan. I thought it was funny how Wheeler tossed out Falacci's things. Normally, I really don't care for such blatant cross-promotion but the cameo of Mary McCormack was so cleverly done I had to smile.
What is it with always portraying movie producers as sleaze balls? Can't remember the last time I saw one as a stand up guy. Makes you wonder why anyone (especially females) would want to go into the entertainment industry.
Looking forward to the next episode and seeing how Goren and Eames are after their fall out from last week.
