Episode Recap: Girls Night Out
I’m a bit disappointed to say this but either I’m growing old of the same drama constantly re-surfacing, or this season of The Hills is just more boring than usual. Does anyone else agree? Well, onto my recap. Heidi visits Audrina at work wanting to gain her friendship back. She asks her to join in on a girls night out and Audrina hesitantly shakes her head yes. On the other side of town, Whitney is slammed at People’s Revolution and so she summons Lauren for help. Whitney re-introduces her to Kelly Cutrone who immediately asks Lauren to jump in and get to work. Lauren is sporting a super-cute short hairdo by the way. Kelly cuts to the chase and tells them how slow they are and re-iterates the all black rule. Lauren realizes this rules applies to her which means she’ll get to work the shows. She’s glowing with excitement.
Girls night out quickly turns into Spencer crashing the party only he ignores Heidi and her friends and proceeds to take shots with other girls. This infuriates Heidi who then freaks out on Spencer before leaving the club. The next morning, Lauren asks Audrina where she was the night before. Audrina tells her, mentions Heidi was there having a girls night, but strategically does not mention she was a part of said girls night. Audrina jumps into the Spencer/Heidi blow-out to which Lauren warns her that if either of them be-friend her, it’s only to get back at Lauren’s friendship with Stephanie. This time I don’t agree with her. I think Heidi is genuinely lonely and misses her old friend.
At the fashion show, Kelly tells Lauren and Whitney to act as sheep-herding dogs. Backstage is stressful but Whitney and Lauren pull it off as usual. Kelly says, “OMG,” and commends them on a job well done. And apparently Lauren was such a great help that it warranted a job offer. Kelly mentions that there’s going to be some changes in the office and then barks orders to a senior member of her staff, and not to the lowest person on the totem poll, which would now be Lauren. It seems like her new job is going to lead to someone else losing theirs.
Do you think Lauren earned a spot at People’s Revolution? Is Spencer and Heidi’s relationship vacation going to be permanent? Will next week’s return of Justin Bobby stir things up?

I think Lauren's proved herself. Remember Kelly worked with her a few years ago. Additionally, it seems that Kelly's employ has a hard time following direction. Maybe new blood who really wants to work for it is the way to go.

I have to agree, and the only way I'm finding out what is happening on the show is through this blog. I can't make it 15 minutes through the current season. It's just too drama filled with Spencer and Heidi not allowing Stephanie to make her own choices.

MTV got Lauren and Whitney the job at People's Revolution because Teen Vogue didn't want to work with "The Hills" anymore.
As for the rest of the episode, Heidi is a pretty pathetic character. I want to feel bad for her because she's so lonely but then I'm also disgusted with the fact that she truly believes that someone that looks and acts like Spencer Pratt is a desirable individual worth fighting over. That's pretty sad and for that reason alone, I would never want to be her friend.
This week's episode was kind of blah. I'm looking forward to next week with the return of Justin Bobby (who is now a model, apparently: http://themoment.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/04/14/head-for-the-hills-justin-bobby-turns-fashion-model/) and Lo reclaiming her position as Lauren's true BFF.

I don't understand why Heidi/Spencer are still on the show. Laguna Beach cut out some people after season 1, why cant the show cut them? People watch for Lauren, it's her spin-off. So why are we stuck with 2 wannabe's who don't interact with lauren at all? Cut them out and the show was pretty good.

I agree. I don't think Heidi is doing it b/c of Lauren's relationship with Stephanie. Lauren is so self-involved it's annoying. Everything has to be about her. The thing is she doesn't have control. She wants to control all her friends. That aspect of her personality really bothers me. I get that she doesn't like Heidi and that they had a big falling out. They basically had the kind of break up that couples have with one another. Honestly, I understand why Lauren was hurt with Heidi and Spencer pushing Jenny Bunny toward Brody. She felt like everyone was out to get her. That everyone was talking about her and all of that. I get that. She was hurt but at this point everyone needs to grow up. Lauren isn't that nice to Audrina. I feel bad for Audrina. You can tell she doesn't want to cross Lauren but she doesn't hate Heidi and does want to be friends with her again. Why is it okay with Lauren to be friends with Stephanie but not for Audrina to be friends with Heidi? I think if anyone is doing the get back at you friendship it's Lauren. I think she enjoys that Stephanie and her are friends and that that probably bugs Spencer and Heidi. She's also just a hypocritic she totally would have gotten back w/ Jason if he hadn't told her he was engaged we all saw how she flirted with him. And now she's back with Steven another guy who didn't treat her that great. But she's judging Audrina for getting back with Justin Bobby. Her hair does look cute and in some ways I feel she's mellowed but I think she's a burned girl, jealous that her friends have relationships that work and she doesn't. Jason, Steven, Brody. I hoped she mellowed some but she seems kind of the same to me.

I was also bored by this episode. Retreading old ground it seems.
I'm shocked to say this but I was more on Spencer's side than Heidi's at the end of this episode when Heidi was getting upset with him in their car talk about him talking to other girls. Heidi's "relationship vacation" seemed like a break up to me. And didn't they even have a conversation about dating other people? HOWEVER, him showing up at Heidi's girls' night was typical "Spencer being a jerk" and I have a feeling the producers asked Stephanie to tell Spencer where the girls were going out, and then encouraged Spencer to show up.
And why do I even care about all of this?!

I wish Heidi had just ignored Spencer. It would have been better for her and just anger him. He wants her attention and wants her miserable if he's miserable. Great relationship, right?
They both need to grow up. Or just act like their together like they do in all the magazine. I'm so over their fake drama.
I agree with you anner2...being on Spencer side is hard, but I was with him on this.
I missed Stephanie this week. I like her, I must say. At least she's interesting. I'm getting tired of boring, blah Audrina.
I missed Lo as well. But Whitney time is always good!!

I wasn't bored with the episode. I thought the episode was fine. The Heidi Spencer fight was interesting. I think Spencer has a right to be pissed. They broke up. Bottom line. They aren't dating right now, that's a break up. Yes, you can say I need space. I don't plan to see other people, I hope you won't either but you can't guarantee that b/c a lot of time space turns into a full on break up and Spencer has his pride and doesn't want to wait around for that. But also she's not being upfront w/ him w/ what she wants and what's going on. And the guy cares about her clearly, so much that he flew to Colorado to see her and she was so rude to him. I don't know, I think in order for your boyfriend to understand what you want you have to communicate that. I think next week looks good with Lauren and Lo being insensitive and dissing Audrina in a way and with the whole return of Justin Bobby. I just wish Lauren was nicer to Audrina. She's acts like such an ellitist. She really does. Just so self-involved. Everything that happens in this world is about me. Heidi wants her girlfriends back - Spencer isn't even trying to be friends w/ Audrina. Lauren can not like them, though I think this whole SEX TAPE business brought a lot of attention to the show. So I don't know what she's whining about and if there wasn't a sex tape then get over it. I have no idea what it's like to be a celebrity so I can't completely relate but you are a celebrity and it seems that's part of the package. I mean, what else is the chick famous for? She's a rich girl from Laguna who shops and whose other big claim to fame is her relationship issues. Anyway ---

I am not enjoying this season either. I too wish that they would cut Spencer and Heidi from the series. I turn the channel when they are on.
As for Lauren, I agree that she seems more self-involved this season and I have been disappointed in her behavior at times.
BUT as for Lauren getting over what Heidi and Spencer did to her, there is no way she should ever be friends with either of them again! They made up and spread stories about the sex tape. That is unforgiveable!!!! No, I do not think she should just move on from something like that. Heidi wants to act like it was all Spencer....you'll never convince me of that.
By the way, Heidi is so jealous of Lauren. Lauren has a fashion line and show, now Heidi does. How ridiculous! Heidi claims she went to college to study fashion design....yeah right for like 15 minutes!

I'm sorry when you have shows showing Spencer and Heidi together and then you watch what they are supposidly going through on the show its like he's with her.
And Audrina not to sure about her I mean she was there backing up Lauren and now all of sudden she wants to be friends again with Heidi after the fact what Heidi did and Spencer. I mean Audrina is now bringing the Heidi and Spencer stuff back into the house. Who cares what goes on when they go out; and Laurens right about she should be able to approach the guy she was once engaged to?
I think both Audrina and Heidi are jealous of Lauren. I wish Audrina would make up her mind who she wants to be friends with; and does Audrina live with Lo and Lauren? you would think if she does that would make them thick and who cares if its Heidi and Laurens fight; she was involved all last season and why this season any diff.
And see justin bobby is coming back; love how Lo and Lauren are around him makes me laugh.
And She Pratt she is hard to judge right now who she is going to be loyal to; I would like to see her friends with Lauren but its like she is also friends with Heidi so not sure trust or not.
