Episode Recap: "Snow Job"
As I prepared to wrap up my marathon evening of blogging tonight, I was especially cranky. Like, Dana Gordon cranky. Thankfully for me, Entourage delivered a slam dunk with an episode that was fast-paced, funny and well crafted. With only two episodes left, I hope they keep it up.
Eric officially joined the ranks of the grown-up world of managers tonight when he had to grapple with a distracted client, her narcissistic and slightly crazy boyfriend, and no cell reception. (Hello, Eric, welcome to Hollywood. What's your dream?) Meanwhile, back in the land of the living, Billy Walsh delivered a script that bore no resemblance to the book on which it was supposedly based and Ari had to go into troubleshooting mode. Two things I knew going in? Vince was going to love the script and Turtle would fall asleep during his Eric impersonation. Johnny delivering on the gourmet snacks was just a bonus.
As I’ve said before, I really enjoy Billy Walsh in small doses and tonight was just enough. I did panic a little when the girlfriend called Vince while Billy was in the bathroom. I was not prepared for a dark turn to that story, but luckily Billy was easily lured from his 15-minute depression when it became clear that Vince was committed to making his movie. I also like the dynamic between Ari and his nemesis Dana Gordon (Constance Zimmer). Often, these types of relationships are played for sexual tension, but in this case, I really do believe her when she says she hates him and wishes him bodily harm.
As the boys celebrated another victory for Team Chase, we are left to ponder whether "Medellin" stands a snowball's chance in Cannes. Pardon the pun.
Only two more episodes left, but check out the Online Video Guide for more Entourage.

There has to be a change a comin' because I doubt (or at least I hope they don't) try to create their own Scorsese/DiCaprio duo on this show and expect me to buy it. Walsh, like you said, is great in small doses...but I am getting sick of him. Medillin has to have some sort of backlash that will cause these two not to work together or maybe Walsh will get hit by a car--I dunno. But after the whole Medillin thing, I don't know if I can stand to watch him much longer.

I don't mind Billy Walsh in small doses - he does represent the difficult route that Vince has to take at times to act in the serious types of movies that he does not get offers for. Without Walsh, Vinnie would be in trouble!
I love Dana Gordon and adore Constance Zimmer. She totally sold me on being pissed off! No doubt about it - it does make you wonder if that is the decision making process for making movies.
Two episodes left for this season. Does anyone know how long before Entourage will be starting their next season? They do things a bit wacky - it is hard to tell!

I love that more female players have been getting quality time in the show- Ari's wife, Dana...heck, even Anna Faris. Even though the focus will always be on the guys, what kind of world would they live in if it was all testosterone all the time?
I don't mind Billy at all as one of the reoccurring background players, and especially liked seeing his "domestic life" is as chaotic and unhinged as he seems to be. That was amusing.
Though not as amusing as watching E run! That was funny watching him be in a virtual tug of war between managing Anna's loose cannon boyfriend and the Vince/Ari/Lloyd team trying to reach him by phone. Shared resource, E, that's what you are.
Now...the kicker is if E finally reads the "no snow" Silo script and hates it after Ari pulled the "Dreamteam" project out of the fire. I hope for E's sake (and everyone's for that matter) that it is actually a good project...

I actually think Entourage has been "off" this entire season and I for one will be cancelling my HBO once Big Love wraps up the season.
The writing and acting have not been funny or clever for at least six episodes.
Sad.

First of all, why do people read blogs of the shows they don't like. If Entourage has been "off" why have you kept watching it? lol
Secondly, the show was just picked up for the fifth season so I assume it won't return until summer.
Third, there's never enough Ari for me!!

I sometimes read blogs about shows I used to love but have gone downhill...it's not unusual. I hated John from Cincinnati with a passion, and read the blogs just to see how others felt about it. It's fun to see how your opinion differs from others watching the same show.

I can't stand Billy! Waste of the show. Give Drama more time.
Could Anna get anymore shots into her lips? That was driving me crazy! She kept licking them to make sure they were still there! She couldn't even move them!
I too will be canceling HBO. I will get the next eps from Netflix.

While I would love to find some bill in my household to reduce, it won't be my cable bill! I as well, can't get enough of Ari, he is awesome, and I actually thought that this week's episode was one of the funnier ones...so much so that i remember thinking "i hope this makes the blogger happy this week!"
